Who doesn’t love a game of Bingo? For me, there are many memories that I have of being little and taking party in a fun kids version whilst on holiday. I also went to a rather party based one at Butlins a few years ago now, which I also adored. I wish so much that there was a closer Bingo hall where I lived. A fun version of it though, not one all about money!
Luckily, the fantastic TOBY team have come up with just the thing, as they have made a bingo game with everything we love. However, it comes with a slight change! It’s all about logo’s!
Taking familiar logo signs and applying them to cards, Logo Bingo, follows the exact same rules that we all know. However, instead of numbers, the logo signs are called out instead. Putting your knowledge to the test, you must complete the board before everyone else to win.
Upon getting a very kind sample of the game, I asked my family to gather round because for one night only (plus many more to come aha!), I became the ultimate bingo caller. And honestly, never have I seen my home more alive than it was as we played this game!
From loud shouting to under breath swearing, a few angry shouts and a winners cheer, the game brought out all the emotions. The most though being happy laughter. Luckily, the brilliant team at Gibsons have created a number of new features to help you find the perfect one for your family! It may even be a great alternative to chocolate!
With sizes differing from 500 to over 1000 pieces, Gibsons gave me a few to try and I honestly couldn’t recommend them enough. Forget finding a place on the table for the big spread because you are going to have to find a spot for your next puzzle instead. Especially if you pick up one of these wonders…
Jokesaws: Midsummer Mayhem Puzzle, £15.99: New for this year, this 1000 piece puzzle will have the whole family laughing, as the strange images come together. Vibrant in colour, the puzzle may look hard, however, it is quite easy to put together in fact. This means that even the little ones can join in with it too. An extra element to this puzzle that makes it better is that you have to find the clues to solve the murder that has taken place within the image. Will you be able to do so? Only creating it will let you know.
Puss Back in Books Extra Large Puzzle, £16: Sweet in size and in imagery, the cute cats in this puzzle make it a classic in the making. When I saw this, I wanted to create it and then gift it to one of the elderly ladies we know on our village. After completing it, I loved the way that it reminded me of the puzzles my grandparents would make. A nostalgic image for all the family to remember for years to come.
Mind the Gap - London Underground Game, £14: The final thing I was sent to trial by the Gibsons team was the fantastic game! I would definitely suggest playing this before the Easter holidays with the young ones in your house. A bit like UNO, it has a more educational feel to it though. You and the whole family will work to get rid of all your cards first by matching up the colours and lines. All whilst learning about the routes and discovering the new Elizabeth Line too. Fun and interesting, what more could you want?
We had a lot of fun recently making and playing these puzzles and games. For something that is different to gift, these are great and perfect for the whole family. There honestly isn’t a family member who wouldn’t enjoy these! I can’t wait to play the Mind The Gap game with my nephew, whilst lending the Puss Back in Books puzzle to my elderly neighbour. She is going to love it!

Many of you know that I love a good game or learning something new! Christmas time is normally when we bring out all the trivial board games or new finds on the market. However, New Years can be just as good!
I can recall a fantastic night at our house where we all played Speak Out. We laughed so much and dribbled a bit too. It was a night that went down in history in our home. There so, when Pikkii offered me the chance to make more memories like this, I was super excited and instantly said yes.
Providing me with two new games on the market, suitable for a more adult audience, as well as a factual fun tool, I couldn’t wait to delve into what they were all about. Here is what I found…
Get Wavey, £11.99: After a few drinks or not, this is the perfect game to play on New Year’s Eve! Each player picks up a card with a very strange sentence or word on it. Then as the player reads it out, the other players have to guess what the sentence actually means. Once they understand it, the first person to shout out the answer to the question wins. It sounds simple, however, it can get tricky. A sign as to why it is said to be for those 12 years and up. Unlike other games, this is a super fun but quick one to play, meaning no one gets bored. You find the whole group playing it a number of times in one sitting instead because it is so good.
Become A Plant Expert In 90 Days, £10.99: Did you know that painkillers come from the bark of the willow tree? Or how about that the leaves on a tomato are poisonous to humans? These are just some of the interesting things you can learn in 90 days from this clever little box of plant advice. I’m not normally someone who is into gardening or plants. Yet, I found myself messaging my mum about everything I was learning. I will admit that I read all 90 facts in one go, for this post of course aha, before handing them to my mum. She has been using them daily and finding what she learns very interesting. Who needs an advent calendar when you can enjoy these facts well into the new year.
What The Actual Factual, £14.99: Made for a party, this will put everything you think you know to the test. Especially when the aim of the game is to lie. Upon starting the game, one player picks out a fact card, reading the line out loud. The rest of the players must then use answer cards, provided at the start of the round, to come up with a convincing fake answer. Reading their chosen fake fact out, each player must then vote to reveal which one is the real one. When it is announced, the players who chose right get one point each, whilst the players whose fake answers got a vote also receive one point. The first player to get 20 points overall wins. Another fantastic game, this will keep you guessing well past midnight. You will be entering 2024 a whole lot smarter after playing it. I’m promising you!
All of these games are well up my street! I loved the ease that came with them when playing and how involved everyone got. Plus, Pikkii have made each game plastic free and environmentally friendly creating even more reasons to buy them. In our house and on this blog, you all know that my family loves a board game! We try to play them as much as we can, especially when it comes to gathering together at Christmas. There so, when Tomy kindly offered me the chance to test out some of their new and much-loved classics, I had to say yes!
In a big brown box, I later found myself faced with some amazing gaming delights. Three of the best around at the moment. Upon opening it, I was greeted to the delights of the legendary Articulate, before uncovering the newest one, The Game of Saying ‘Huh?!’. As well as a revamped version of the brilliant Screwball Scramble called, Screwball Scramble Level Up.
Deciding to put the oldest to the test first, we gathered round our dining room table to play Articulate. Known as the fast talking game, the aim is to describe what is on the card to your team members, getting as many right as you can in 30 seconds. However, you cannot say any of the words on the card.
I absolute adore this game. When me and my friends used to have dinner parties or gatherings in sixth form, I can remember us all playing this. We would spend hours enjoying it. Something I recreated with my family. Honestly, I forgot how good Articulate was as a game. I now want to get everyone round again for another games night to play this. It is a game that brings hours of fun for all ages, which makes it fantastic when you have all the family over at Christmas.
The next game we tried was the revamped Screwball Scramble. Much like the classic game, this one had been remade to literally level up. Now in a vertical position, players have to get their marble to the top, using only three controls to do so. However, if you fail to get to the top, you have to start all over again, until you get there. Something I really loved about this game was that it could be played alone or with others. The challenge was on for myself because of this and once I started to play it, I couldn’t stop. The same goes for my mum, who I’m not scared to admit as worse than me with how competitive she was. Even when trying to beat her previous own high score.
Finally, we settled down to play, The Game of Saying ‘Huh?!’. In the game’s box, you are faced with a set of task cards, each having a set of letters on them, as well as a phrase at the top. Each player is then given a letter and must say the quote in the way the letter says. For example, the player may be asked to say it like a cowboy. All motions and actions are banned, with players losing points if they use them. Team members must then guess who had each letter, when the time is up, to be in with a chance of winning. The player who has the most points wins in the end.
The game is best played when lots of people are playing I found, as there is a lot of wit and silliness to be had. It’s a bit like charades but with your voice doing all the actions instead. At first, the little ones in our family didn’t quite understand, but once they saw us adults being silly they couldn’t wait to give it a go. There was a lot of laughter over this I have to admit. However, I would still say that this is best played by older children and adults to work well.
Tomy have produced legendary games for years! Whether it be a new discovery or a classic, I am certain that you will love their selection. There is literally something for everyone to enjoy. I can’t thank them enough for helping us to play just what we will be playing with guests over the next month. It is going to be hilarious for us all. Many of you know that I am a huge fan now of the brilliant Coiledspring Games company. Having been very lucky and fortunate to have been sent some games to play, the company have supported me a lot and I am so thankful to them. Especially for the exciting present I got sent by them recently.
As someone who loves a puzzle, I was kindly gifted a new Exploding Kitten’s 1,000 piece jigsaw to do. Now, when I start a puzzle, I can’t stop until it is complete. I used to refuse to go back to the hospital on a Sunday if I hadn’t finished one of the Disney ones we would start on the Friday, when I got home.
This weekend, I went back in time and refused to do anything but complete this puzzle. However, let me tell you something lovelies. This one was hard! With lots of colours being the same and a tough pattern, it really did put my mum and me through our paces.
Yet, we didn’t give up and the end result was so satisfying to see. In fact, when we came to the end and the comical cat faces peered back at me, I knew that I would be getting myself some more of these to do. Although, I wanted to give my brain another kind of challenge first. A tougher one in many ways.
Coiledspring Games are well known for their excellent Cortex Challenge collection. Ranging from sets that all the family can take part in to tougher adult based ones, there is something to put all kinds of minds to the test. Including the new Super Cortex Challenge.
With me and my mum ready to put our knowledge into use, we sat down on Sunday night to give the game a go. Featuring 80 new mini games, these have truly been created to test those that play. I will hold my hands up and admit that I did feel a little stupid at times, but the fun that we had was endless.
Both of us loved the nature of using our brains to make us well-worthy winners. Even coming away feeling well and truly clever in some parts. The game is so different to anything we have played before, but in a very good way.
Over the past few days, I have begun to think about Christmas and presents. Yes, I know it is summer, but I can’t help myself. These two different puzzles and games would be perfect for the young and the old as gifts.
I’m also certain that they would be great to do together during those random days over the festive period where you don’t really know what day or time it is. They are super fun and refreshing to play for all.
Forever will these games now be in our home and I can’t wait to see what else Coiledspring Games bring out. Each and every time, they make sure that the fun, madness and fresh nature is to be released and I can’t get enough.

Manta Makes Coronation Coaster, £3.99, Amazon: Sometimes it is the little things that make a big difference. This coaster is one of them. Whether you are going for a more subtle theme or want to include the crown on every detail in your home, this coaster is a stand out. I will be keeping it as my chosen memorabilia piece!
Pin The Diamond On The Crown Party Game, £4.99, Amazon: From a coaster to a crown, this game will have everyone laughing. The aim is to get the diamond on the crown. However, I am certain that after a few festive Pimms this might not be as easy as it seems. Will you be able to do it?
Right now, in the UK, there are loads of fantastic Coronation pieces around. These are some thought that have really stood out to me. However, Asda has some great bits too. If you need to find something though quickly, Amazon is always a great place and I am so thankful to be decorating my home with the bits mentioned above.

Last week, I was at my brother’s home in Blackpool. During my time there, we got up to lots. From Madame Tussauds to shopping and seeing the sights, there wasn’t a day that wasn’t busy. However, when it came to the evenings, we stayed in and got cosy.
Snuggled up as a family on the sofa, me and my nephew Leo, decided to delve into the world of his Nintendo Switch and try a few new games during that time. Ones that I thought would be fun for him to review. Starting with The Addams Family: Mansion Mayhem.
With Halloween having just gone by, this new terrifying game allows for you and the whole family to come together to help the most haunted family of all time. Based on the new animated feature film, the game's story is in a 3D platform, as you must work to help save their mansion.

The next game was a bigger success. After telling me he didn’t want to play it, Leo finally caved in and downloaded Ben 10: Power Trip. A game he later told me that he absolutely loved. Again, made in a 3D manner, the game allows players to solve puzzles and mini games, to try and defeat the evil forces who threaten Ben 10 and his family.

I will continue to try and get Leo to play Nintendo Switch games in the future, as it was super fun to all come together and get reviews out of him.
