Good Morning Lovelies,
Board games are often viewed as being a huge part of family bonding at Christmas time. However, to me, I love playing board games at random times. Spending those unexpected moments playing with my mum has led to lots of core memories, highlighting how they are not just for the festive season.
One brand that I always find myself turning to is Big Potato Games! Full of inventive ideas, every creation that they come up with is unlike anything else on the market. Making games that are instant classics, like the retro ones we all know and love, the company has many to choose from to keep the festive board game magic alive all year round. And so, I thought I would share some that really stood out to me.
It is time to gather your ultimate team and prepare to get lost for hours in these boredom beating gaming wonders…
Cards Against Gravity, £15.99: Recycling has never looked so good! Using a bottle you have lying around your home, you have to stack your chosen cards onto the supplied magnet on top of it without letting them fall. The person who stacks theirs all on first or is still in when the other gamers have lost wins.
Trivia Night Live, £24.99: Forget heading to the pub on a Wednesday night or staying in and watching the classic game shows on TV. It is time to host your own fun trivia night at home instead. Using your phone and TV, you and your opponents and team mates have to guess the answers to the questions correctly to win each round on the board. Those that complete a circuit of it first will take home that big cash prize! Or a small treasure in your home!
Good Face, Bad Face, £9.99: The aim of the game is super easy, as all you have to do is lay down four good faces. However, if you lay a bad face then you lose and the rest of the players fight to come out on top. It is truly time to get your game face on with this travel friendly wonder.
That’s Totally You, £19.99: Couples, friends and even enemies will love this finger pointing game! After selecting a card, each player has to choose who is more likely to be or do what is on the card. If you both guess correctly, you continue to play. However, if you get it wrong, you are out and another player steps in to play until all the guesses are done and the ultimate winner is revealed. Just be careful who you point the finger at, as you don’t want a row to start aha!
Tilt ‘N’ Shout, £21.99: The aim of the game is simple: after picking a category, each team must shout out an answer within the time limit and tilt the ball and ramp onto the other team's side. Once a guess has been said, the game will get quicker and quicker until a member of the team is unable to answer in the seconds given. The team who doesn't let the ball fall wins.
OK Play, £14.99: If you are like me and find travelling incredibly boring then this is the game for you! Easily able to be attached to your luggage, this game sees you trying to get five of your tiles in a row. However, like noughts and crosses, the others you are playing with will try to stop you by getting five in a row first. So simple but incredibly entertaining!
Scrawl, £24.99: Only adults are allowed to play this one, as someone picks a card with a rude idea on it, which they then have to draw before getting the rest of their team or the table to guess what it is. Like a raunchier version of Pictionary, this one allows for all to have endless amounts of naughty fun.
What’s The Best Thing?, £11.99: Ever wondered what everyone thinks is the best TV show? Or what their favourite school subject is? In this ranking game, you may find out, whilst also trying not to lose a life by placing your number beside the category. Be careful though, as you only have four lives before you are out. It is truly a test of friendship.
P For Pizza, £12.99: Great to take with you on the go, this game will have the whole family thinking about the best answers to give. Having to come up with something matching the letter on the cards, quick enough to win the pieces of your pizza, your mind will go into a fun overdrive in hopes to come out on top with this.
Kluster, £19.99: If you want to start a family argument, even with yourself at Christmas, then this might be the game to do it. Using magnetic pieces, you have to get all of yours in the circle without them touching. All seems simple until you realise that all the pieces are magnetic. Able to be played alone as well as with others, this is the game that you will end up both addicted and loathing to.
As well as these amazing games from Big Potato Games, the fantastic team at Smarter, have also created something that you need to add to your next game night too lovelies! Testing out everything that we know, the game asks the questions we all should know the answer to, helping to find out who is the smartest one out of all of those that we know. Having played it with my mum and friends, we loved how intense the game playing got and couldn't wait to put more of the questions to the test in the future. If you are looking for something a little different than head to their website to find out all about it lovelies.
With so many games available for you to choose from, Big Potato Games and Smarter are making sure that there is something for everyone to enjoy in 2026! There simply is no better fun to be had than spending a night with your closest friends and family members playing one! It is the best way to beat off those January blues, as long as no arguments occur! Right, who is up for a quick round of Kluster?
