00:05:00

You can’t have Christmas without a bunch of board games to play! However, they don’t have to be the normal kind this year, as there are so many more available that can revive that old family gaming spirit! Leave the Monopoly on the shelf this year and get ready to embrace these new family games from Big Potato Games and Asmodee this December!

Good Morning Lovelies,

Christmas is always associated with board games! When the food has been eaten, the food comas have set in for some and the soft snores from your grandad can be heard, it is the most perfect time to get your family favourites out to start the all important family arguments. However, this year, it doesn’t have to be that way!

No longer do we have to stick to tradition, as the teams at Big Potato Games and Asmodee, have created a whole host of new ones this year that the whole family can enjoy. Adding loads of new additions to their already fantastic selections, the following games are perfect gifts or to bring along to any gathering that you will be having this December. Bugsy going first…

Whirly Derby: The All Active Marble Racing Game, £24.99: Probably my favourite game out of all the new ones, Whirly Derby is like an old school board game that the whole family can join in with. After picking the coloured marble that you would like to be, each player tosses them down the speedway provided. The top three winners are those that finish first with each one choosing trophy cards that are worth points. The ultimate winner is the one with the most points after eight rounds. So easy but a whole lot of fun that young and old will love.

Add To Playlist, £19.99: If you are a music loving family then this is the game for you! After selecting five prompt cards, you will have to make a playlist each based on the cues given on each card. For example, the card will suggest that you find a song that would work in a zombie chase. Going around the table, each player will add a song to the playlist, based on their cards, which the other team members then have to guess the cue and person who chose the song for it. The winner is the one with the most correct answers. Dancing is essential with this one!

Don’t Fall For It!, £19.99: Do you think you know your facts from fiction? In this easy to play board game, you have to decide which answers are true and which are false. If your answers are incorrect then you are sent to the tower, which could topple at any moment. The winner in the end is the person or team with the fewest blocks from the tower. I can’t promise that arguments won’t be had with this but I can promise that a whole lot of fun will be had.

Flip 7, £9.99: The aim of the game is to flip all seven of your hand of cards to reach 200, however, with special cards available to your components, it isn’t as easy as it seems. As you flip more and more cards, more points can be earned, but you can’t flip the same card twice otherwise punishments will be dealt. The new UNO, this will allow for endless hours of fun that can even be enjoyed on the go. Perfect for all those long car journeys to see family and friends at Christmas.

Bluey Dobble, £16.99: Dobble has won over the hearts of families all over the world for its easy to play nature. In this epic new version, the usual pairing matches have been replaced with images from the world of Bluey, which little ones will love even more. As they spot the same icons in each card, the one with the most cards in the end will be the winner. Both educational and fun, this is great to slip into a stocking this Christmas.

LEGO Brick Like This, £19.99: As a massive LEGO fan, when I saw this game, I had to find out more about it. Complete with LEGO pieces, the game sees teams having to race to build the model on the cards selected the fastest. Those that get them correct first win, with the ultimate winner being the one that scores the highest. Combining two of my favourite things, this is a LEGO dream.

Big Potato Games and Asmodee have a whole host of games on each of their websites to pick from, which means that we no longer have to select the normal ones that end up with everyone getting bored. These new options are just a few that will make your Christmas extra special, highlighting why I love them so much! Get ready for a whole lot of fun this festive season lovelies!
