Good Morning Lovelies,
Christmas may be nine months away, however, I have been getting stuck into preparing for it already! Last month, I introduced myself to diamond art. Now, I can’t stop making things. Something that has stemmed into a bit of a Christmas theme creating session!
I’ve made a diamond art wreath and a set of eight coasters so far, which I hope to apply setting spray, to help the sequins stick more securely. We will be getting them out when it is Christmas time to ensure that everyone gets a chance to use them for now though, I have put them away to get stuck into the next bunch.
I’ve already ordered another wreath to design and am going to be doing some big searches and shopping sessions first pictures to create using diamond art. I may even get some Christmas cards that you can apply diamonds too and gift to my nearest and dearest.
By spending a few hours and only £10 at most, I’ve got new decorations and a better mental health activity. I simply can’t get enough! Even if my floor has with the amount of gems on it! Even after hoovering as much as my mum can, we are still finding them everywhere. It seems our home was just made to sparkle like a Christmas tree aha!
Amazon is a great place to find affordable creations from £2 lovelies, so if you fancy giving them a go have a look there. My delivery man must think I am crazy if he knows what is in them, however, I’m loving knowing that my home will have a more personal touch this festive season!

Good Morning Lovelies,
With March arriving and the feeling of Spring in the air, I’ve decided to go with a few themed and lighter books for March. Even when they may seem a little dark, they will actually make you feel so much better!
All of the books will be on display at Hertford Library for you to take out, so if you like the look of them definitely pop down and grab them lovelies! It’s time to embrace these much-loved March novels…
Barbie and Ruth by Robin Gerber: With World Barbie Day being on the 9th March, this book will make you see the story behind the most famous doll in the world in a new light. From humble beginnings to her gigantic rise to fame, find out how we all came to get Barbie fever.
Bridget Jones Baby by Helen Fielding: Last month, I picked the original story in this trilogy. Now, in honour of Mother’s Day, I have selected the very funny third book, which captures Bridget’s journey as a mum.
The Cosy Cottage in Dublin by Julie Caplin: St Patrick’s Day fulls on the 17th March and as you all know I love Ireland. It is the country that owns my heart! When I need a little Irish fix, I always turn to this charming book to fill my heart up again.
Black Cake by Charlene Wilkerson: I spotted this book after watching the new Disney Plus series based on it. When a family is torn apart by the death of their mother, everyone reacts differently, as they come to learn more about her that they never knew.
Girl, Goddess, Queen by Bea Fitzgerald: Love Greek mythology? This new YA novel will leave you yearning to know more about the gods! Turning everything we thought we knew about them on their heads, this new series is one of love, action and pink perfection.
Shakespeare: The Man Who Pays The Rent by Dame Judi Dench: When a legend writes about another you just know it is going to be good. Reflecting on the Shakespearean plays that changed her career, Dench explores how much of an impact the works have had on her life in a very funny manner.
Milk and Honey by Rupi Kaur: World Poetry Day takes place this month and Kaur is the perfect person to celebrate with. Each poem tells in intimate story of love, self care and humanity. Prepare to be left feeling a bit raw after finishing it.
All Good Things by Amanda Prowse: Ever wondered what your neighbours lives are really like? In this story, two women uncover what is really happening behind closed doors. Everything that they thought they knew about each other might not be so true.
Small Miracles by Anne Booth: If you are looking for something fun to read over the Easter weekend, with a hint of religion in the theme, then this is the one for you. When a group of nuns decide to rediscover the joys of life, they find more than what they are bargaining for.
Remarkably Bright Creatures by Shelby Van Pelt: Spring is the perfect time for a clean up, however, the cleaner in this book gets more than she expects. When a detective starts looking into the mysterious disappeared of her son twenty years ago, the cleaner uncovers more than just dust amongst the pages.
Best Book of the Month: Fourteen Days by Margaret Atwood and Multiple Authors: Over the course of fourteen amazing authors voices, this book tells the story of the occupants within a housing complex. All dealing with the effects of COVID! It’s a heart wrenching, open novel that will have you crying, laughing and appreciating each author even more.
What have you all been reading recently lovelies?

Many of you know that when it comes to trying to change up my diet, I find it really hard. However, this month I have managed to make a few changes. My anorexia hated me for it, I was really body conscious because of them, but I did it. And I am proud of myself for doing so.
Not a lot of changes were made, but the small additions were important to me and my family. This is something I am definitely trying to think about more. Not punishing myself for not changing a meal, but celebrating the little wins. Slow and steady definitely won the race in March with this meal plan…
Monday: Sweet Potato, Brussels Sprouts, Asda Essentials Stuffing and Hellman’s Mayonnaise -This has been a bit of a regular meal for me, but I love it. The stuffing changes a bit from time to time, but this 25p bargain find is lush and I am really liking it. Plus, I have changed brands of mayonnaise, after the Aldi one went missing for a while. This was a big step for me.
Tuesday: A Slow Cooker Meal - During the week, I have taken to making a slow cooker meal. This has been shared with my mum very often. Something I wanted to work on doing more of. From rice pudding, vegetable risottos and stews, we have enjoyed a few creative dishes on a Tuesday now.
Wednesday: A New York Bakery Plain Bagel with Tesco Set Honey, an Apple and Haribo Sweets - To me, this meal is a bit like a school lunch box dinner and it has become one of my favourites. Over the past few weeks, I have tried lots of different set honeys on the bagels, as the Aldi one has disappeared. This is my favourite one of all the supermarket own brands. I’ve also introduced apples back into my life. God I love them so much! I have missed them a lot! I smear a bit of honey on top of them too. As for the Haribo sweets, the addition of one of the little bags I had at Christmas for my advent calendar are lovely.
Thursday: Cauliflower and Vegetables Bake In A Bag Dish - This is the biggest change to my normal meals. I used to have these a lot, but I got scared of having them and so cut them out. After talking to my mum about wanting to try them again, she has been helping me prepare and enjoy them for the past few weeks. Using the spiced bake in a bags from the supermarkets, we put in a whole cauliflower each and mix up the vegetables every week to try something new. This has widened the vegetables I am having again, including carrots, sugar snap peas and more. I’m so proud of myself for this big change.
Friday: A New York Bakery Cinnamon and Raisin Bagel with Aldi Apricot Conserve, an Apple and a Go Ahead Fruit Slices Biscuit - Another lunch box type meal, I really love this one too. Cinnamon and raisin bagels are the best in my opinion and no one does them like the New York Bakery ones. Topped with a new conserve I have found from Aldi, I have been braving the apricot flavour this past month. So flavoursome and tasty, I adore it. Again I slice up an apple to go with it and add the conserve to the top of that too. I then add in a Go Ahead Fruit Slices biscuit to finish it off. My favourite kind are the apple ones, but I do love the forest fruit kind as well!
Saturday: Porridge with Honey - You must all know by now how much I love honey! If it says Rowse on the bottle, I probably have it in my home. Saturday nights are still big bowls of porridge night in my house. I love it thick and chunky, then topped with honey, often the Rowse Dark and Rich kind, which I honestly buy a bottle of every week. The honey is also a great topping for rice pudding too! Watching it run around the bowl is glorious.
Sunday: Potato and Broccoli Bake with Marigold Vegetable Gravy: Another new addition to my meals is the introduction of gravy. Whilst I don’t feel comfortable having a Sunday roast, I feel like I am having my own version with this bake. My mum preps this for me and I have been loving it since I started enjoying it again at the start of March.
I’ve definitely found March to be the month that I have added in a lot more vegetables. And I’m loving it! It’s made me excited for the spring and summer salads that my mum makes, as I would really like to conquer them this year. She always makes lovely potato ones and I’m hoping to join her in enjoying them.
What new foods or meals did you try in March? What is your ultimate comfort food lovely? Whatever you enjoyed, I hope that you have it again and again! Now pass me the honey!

Does anyone else feel like March disappeared in the blink of an eye? How on earth are we honestly nearly in the fourth month of the year already?!? I feel like 2023 is zooming ahead and it will be Christmas before we know it. It’s quite scary really!
However, before I fall down a rabbit hole of decorating the house with festive fancies, I wanted to share my favourite things from March 2023. It was quite an interesting one…
My Favourite Book: Magazines - In March, I found myself focusing more on magazines than books. At first I felt guilty about it, but then realised that as long as I am reading than it is good. I’ve read all sorts of themed magazines, but some of my favourites are Women’s Heath, The Simple Things and BBC Easy Food.
My Favourite TV Show/Film: Gogglebox - Every Friday night, me and my mum now snuggle up and get cosy watching this show, which makes it extra special for me. It was one of my goals this year to do this with my mum and we have now got stuck in. Gogglebox is also a legendary show in our house.
My Favourite Food Find: Cauliflower Bakes: About a year or so ago, I used to have a lot of bake in a bag cauliflowers, but then I stopped and got scared of them. Continuing the theme of having meals with my mum, she managed to help me conquer my fear and we had one together. The spices in the bag blew my head off aha, but I was proud of myself for doing it.
My Favourite Beauty Item: Palmer’s Cocoa Butter Swivel Stick - After being sent this stick by a lovely PR company, I got stuck into using it to save my sore lips and face. It has changed the game. I don’t need it every night, which is when I apply it, because it works so quickly. Something I am really happy about because it means that it is going to last for ages. A new beauty hero of mine!
My Favourite Podcast: The Phonebox Podcast with Emma Conway - Many of you will now that I love nostalgic things. I am a 90s child and when I see things from that decade and the 00s I can’t help but fall in love with them again. This podcast is a trip down memory lane for me. I spend hours afterwards looking up the iconic discussions and Emma is a hero of mine as well. Listen to this show and then follow her on YouTube at BrummyMummyof2 for more goodness.
My Favourite Experience: The Little Things - Due to March moving on so quickly, I didn’t feel like we did much. However, it was a month in which we planned for the future. We chose a show to see at Christmas, discussed birthday plans and looked ahead for what we want to achieve this year. I also saw sweet moments between strangers that made my heart soar. March may be over but it was kind of lovely.
What were your favourite things about or during March?

Normally, I share with you all what books I read in March. However, this month, I found myself falling back in love with magazines. As part of my library service, they have a great app called Libby, which allows you to read all of the latest magazines for free. They do also have a service for newspapers called BorrowBox, but I don’t really use that one.
When I was growing up, I loved magazines. They were kept pristine and only certain people could look at them. They held memories and moments for me, as they were a real treat when I used to get them. Sneak, the Sabrina and S Club 7 subscriptions and then Sugar and Company ruled my teenage years.
As I have grown up (aha), I have now found a love for all magazines. I believe it is the journalist in me. Cosmopolitan, The Simple Things, Glamour, Vogue, Woman&Home, Good Housekeeping (especially at Christmas!) and so many more are what I enjoy reading each month.
Even cooking ones such as Olive, Delicious and BBC Good Food/Easy Cook keep me enraptured. So, these are what I have been reading this month through the app. Something I have really loved.
All of the magazines help me to get my writing mojo back and I hope one day that I can do some freelance writing for many of them. They keep me entertained and I hope that you can use your library services to find free simple moments of joy with them too. This was Hertfordshire library by the way, but I am sure many libraries across the country and world will have their own apps or services you can use. Simply pop in and find out lovelies.
What was your favourite magazine growing up? Or now even?
