00:00:00

With the first signs of spring in the air, March is the perfect time to head outside and explore the wonders of a new world. However, it is also a wonderful time to fall head over heels in love with the places hidden between the pages of a good book! Out on display now, find out what books I’ve selected for March here!

Good Morning Lovelies,

As we head into the third month of the year, there is a sense of wonder and renewal in the air. With the first signs of spring appearing, there is something quite lovely about grabbing a good book and going out into the fresh air to enjoy it. There so, I have chosen a whole host of reads for my display in Hertford Library this month that will hook you in from start to finish.

Picking something in every genre, there is something for everyone to enjoy in March. Whether it be a good romance, an epic thriller or a refreshing take on the college genre, you will want to take out or buy the following as soon as you can lovelies…

Book of the Month - Girl Dinner by Olivie Blake: Although the title may suggest that this is about the latest TikTok trend, it is far from it. Following a bunch of girls within a local college sorority, it shows the dark side of their academic life, as they take part in some vicious activities. It is an intense read but truly gripping from start to finish.

Hamnet by Maggie O’Farrell: With an absolutely incredible film adaptation running alongside it, this harrowing take on the death of Shakespeare’s son will leave you in turmoil. If you have seen the film then you will know what I mean, however, if not, get a hanky ready for this one.

The Cleaner by Mary Watson: Upon starting this, you will think that everything is okay. Yet, all is not as it seems, as the leading character goes on a wild case of revenge. Seeking payback for the nasty acts she has faced, the cleaning in this book is not the usual kind.

Heated Rivalry by Rachel Reid: With the hit show about to make it to our shores, now is the perfect time to find out how this love story began. The first in a series of books, once you have picked this one up, you will be reserving the rest right away.

The Midnight Hour by Eve Chase: Full of fantasy, thrills and mystery, this book will have you hooked from the first page, as it flicks between past and present to reveal the secrets buried under a house in Notting Hill. The relationships, setting and overall plot is everything you look for in a perfect book.

Problematic Summer Romance by Ali Hazelwood: Summer is nearly upon us and the queen of romances is here to share a fun and spicy take on a summer romance. With tons of twists and turns, this is great to binge read by the pool with. As well, the book is about to be turned into a film, so it is best to read it now before the buzz becomes too much.

The Strawberry Patch Pancake House by Laurie Gilmore: With a book written for every season in this franchise, Laurie Gilmore gives fans a fun spring time romance that is perfect for cosy evenings in reading. Grab your best blanket and snuggle up by the window, as the early morning sun shines in with this one.

Happy Place by Emily Henry: If you are like me and loved the adaptation of People We Meet On Vacation, then you are going to want to read the next book in Henry’s series, which I am sure will be turned into a film soon. Following a couple who have secretly broken up, the story sees them having to come together to fake their relationship one last time.

The Dagger And The Flame by Catherine Doyle: Romantasy books are still riding high in the charts and this YA based book is gripping in every way. Set in a dark underworld, the story sees two assassins fight to outdo each other, as magic sets to destroy them both. However, along the way, the unexpected happens and they find themselves falling for one another. Soon it isn’t the darkness surrounding them that may hurt them but their love for each other instead.

If He Had Been With Me by Laura Nowlin: Ever wondered about the one that got away? That is exactly what the character in this book faces, as she learns what might have been if her and her first love had never drifted. Dark, romantic and thrilling, it is a YA book that readers haven’t been able to put down and you will see why from the first page.

The Sirens by Emilia Hart: Any fans of The Little Mermaid may not want to read this thriller, as it follows one sister's journey to find her sibling. Only to uncover a dark truth about what is really happening under our seas. This book is fantasy at its best.

Books are such a thing of wonder and beauty and I hope that this month’s options bring a whole host of joy into your lives! What one will you be reading? Or what are you currently reading that you would recommend? I would love to hear all of your suggestions lovelies!
