Do you ever look at your hairbrush and just throw it away from how dirty it may appear? I mean I’m not talking high levels of grime. I’m talking the normal amount. Well, you may not need to. You can prevent so much waste, whilst saving money too, by just giving it a good clean.
Recently, I did this with mine and my mums. I went to town on them. Using water, soap and tweezers, I removed the hair, fluff and all the nastiest to reveal brushes that looked brand new. My hair felt the benefit of it too. Knowing I wasn’t going to be spreading any of the dead oils, serums and fluff into my hair on a daily bases, something that is horrifying when you think of it, made me feel so much better.
It is time to grab yours lovelies and give it a brand new do with my simple tips to making yours look fabulous all over again…
Wash The Brush: Start the process by washing your brush with a tiny spot of your shampoo. This will help to loosen some of the dead skin and oils that have been resting on the brush.
Remove Loose Hair: Before you can get down to the little bits of dirt, you need to remove the big bits. Grab and take out any hair that is easy to remove from the brush. Place this in the bin when done.
Use Tweezers To Remove Hard Grime: Got fluffy or little hairs wrapped around the base of the bristles? Take a pair of tweezers and pull these up. Then carefully remove and place into the bin. The more you remove the easier it is to see where dirt remains.
Dust In between: Do you have a small makeup brush you no longer use? Take it and dust off any grime between the bristles. This will help to remove anything that may have fallen onto the brush when items were being removed before.
Wash Again: Like you did at the start, use a small amount of shampoo and re wash your brush. Now it is as good as new!
It’s so simple and saves a lot of time lovelies! Oddly, I found it quite therapeutic aha! My brush honestly looked like new and my hair is very thankful for it. I know yours will too lovelies!

January is the perfect time to have a clear out. When putting away the new items you got at Christmas, you can do a bit of a sweep at the same time, removing all you no longer need. Our house is currently going through a lot of changes and room makeovers. I’ve never seen my mum gut a house so quickly!
During the whole process, it has made me think about the best ways to clear out your space and restore calm, tidiness and a little bit of peace. Coming up with five simple ways to clear out the clutter, you will be loving your home even more by doing the following…
Start With One Thing Each Day: There are 365 days in a year, so not everything needs to be done all at once. Give yourself the task of completing one small thing every day and soon your house and mind will be more relaxed. Remember, Romebwasnt built in a day lovelies!
Be Brutal: When doing a big sort out, the best thing to do is to just be brutal. Really go for it. Think you will never use it again, get rid of it. Don’t actually know why you own it, again get rid. Try and sell new or good condition items and save the money for something else. By being brutal your home is cleared and your pockets could be filled.
Think About How Much You Have Used It: As mentioned above, when you aren’t sure if you will use a product, really think about its importance in your life. How many times have you used it before? Now you’ve discovered it again, will you use it more? If you are uncertain then it is probably certain you won’t use it again. That means it is time to toss it out lovelies.
Hire Services If Needed: If you are doing a huge clear out, hire a skip or removal service. When my mum wanted to clear our back garden, I purchased a skip. It was completely and utterly full by the end of it, as our garden was cleared from top to bottom. Whilst it wasn’t the cheapest of services, it really helped us. Especially when the skip and rubbish were taken away, due to us having no cars to take us to the recycling centre or tip.
Look Online For Inspiration: Pinterest and other places are great at helping to come up with ideas on how we may want a space in our homes. I love looking at YouTube DIY vlogs to see how hard or simple an idea is and then doing it. Well, my mum is more of the DIY person to be honest aha! But honestly, I find the ideas people place online help me a lot when it comes to seeing how throwing or selling old items can transform a room into something better.
Clearing up even the smallest of spaces makes me happy! Honestly, over Christmas, I couldn’t handle the mass of things in my cupboard,hiding from present seekers. Yet, when I had wrapped them up and put them under the tree, I felt so much better.
My first big project this year, which I know is going to be tough, is to clear out my DVD cupboard. Whilst it has been a huge part of my life, there are many films I no longer watch but have kept stored. They take up a lot of room, which could be used for other things. It will be hard and sad, but by making a better storage system, I know it will be for the best. Although, the Disney, Christmas and horror films are going nowhere aha!

A few weeks ago, I was asked if I would like to trial the new Flash Dust Magnet Duster and of course I said yes! If a new cleaning product comes out, I want to know all about it! Especially if it is going to help me keep my home tidy in an easy way.
The Flash Dust Magnet is made up of a number of fluffy fibres that help to trap dirt, dust and hair from humans and pets in swift and easy motions. Taking it out of the box, I found the product to be super lightweight and easy to assemble. All of which starting the cleaning process quickly.
Upon placing it along my shelves, I found that the head moved around the items on it, such as my candles, whilst removing all the dust around them. The long handle made it easy to reach up and remove cobwebs too.
Instantly my home felt fresher and surprisingly the dust head didn’t even seem that dirty. However, you can get more refills for a great price at many local shops to keep the process super clean.
Often I find when dusting that I can clean an area, turn around, turn back and the dust has reappeared. Yet, this didn’t happen here. The magnet really did scoop up all the dust around my house and I was super impressed.
Upon opening the box I wasn’t sure what to expect. Ultimately though, the Flash Dust Magnet exceeded all of my expectations and I will definitely be investing in more refills to continue to use it in the future.
Cleaning done in a flash equals a massive fantastic from me!
