Summer isn’t always about going away to a sunny climate! In fact, with the heatwave we have been having here in the UK, it is all about bringing the sunshine into our own homes in multiple ways. As the daughter of a proud Sicilian, I was always taught about the wonders of the Mediterranean. From the foods to the sights, there was something embedded within every corner of those wonderful isles that made me want to bring them into my home. 

From the whiff of a fresh lemon candle to the beautiful images of white buildings and blue roofs, my soul felt complete having them in my life. So, when Purdy & Figg shared with me all the news about their latest range, I couldn’t wait to put it to the test.  

Made up of the best smells from the Med, the Mediterranean Series Starter Kit features some of the most beautiful scent combinations that you could ask for. Inspired by Spain and Italy, including the beautiful Taormina, which was close to where my dad was born, the kit includes the smells of Jasmine & Neroli, Rock Rose & Cedarwood and Bergamot & Clary Sage within it. 

All of which are combined to make three perfect counter cleaning smells that when combined with water make the most perfect kitchen cleaner. Having kindly been given a set to try, I was left in awe at the beautiful glass spray bottle, with a wonderful floral pattern on it and the soft dishcloth that came within the box. Eager to begin testing them, I opted to use the Bergamot & Clary Sage first, as it felt fitting to have sage in the air upon cleaning on a Sunday afternoon with a roast in the oven. 

Taking no time at all to mix up, I was soon spritzing away, leaving the smells of Italy in my wake. It was like I had been transported right into the vineyards that my family owned all over again. Yet, I hadn’t had to pay for a flight or hotel to enjoy it.

As someone who cannot stand a messy counter, the cleaner left a real shine behind too, making me feel very confident that it was working its magic. The cloth picked up any marks or grime that had been left, yet still looked sky blue at the end, as it snuggled up in the comfort of my now shiny kitchen. 

Having seen the wonders that the cleaner had created in just a short amount of time, I am now keen to put it to the test in other rooms of my house. The spray bottle made it easy for me to apply the product directly onto the areas that needed tidying and cloth removed them without having to do any vigorous scrubbing or excess spraying. You really could take a holiday from cleaning up thanks to the set.

Every smell stayed within the air for days afterwards, making me feel confident to have guests, as I couldn’t wait for them to enjoy it too. In fact, a friend of mine even asked what we were using and where she could buy it from due to loving it so much. At just £19.99 for everything included, the products are worth every single penny, as they really go far, as you don’t have to use a lot to make a difference to any area that you use it on. 

As someone who is desperate to go back to my dad’s homeland, this set gave me a little bit of his homeland in our home. A fact that brought me endless amounts of joy. Purdy & Figg have made a summer product that is going to last forever and I now can’t wait to see what they bring out for the festive season.
