Made back in the 1960s, the classic film The Apartment is now making its way onto Blu-ray for the first time ever in a stunning new resolution that makes this classic feature stand out.

Starring Shirley MacLaine and Jack Lemmon, the film captures the story of an insurance broker, called C.C. Baxter, who lends his apartment to a local businessman, who is also his boss. Upon working together though, C.C. discovers that the girl of his dreams is the mistress of his boss and the turmoil Soon begins within the threesome.

The film is a classic and classy 60s comedy that leaves you feeling like you have gone back in time. They don’t make films like this anymore and the way in which MacLaine and Lemmon command the screen, highlight what a true Hollywood star really was.

Coming out just after the boom of California based musicals, this classic showed that change was coming and voices, especially relationships, needed more airtime. Time in which to be developed and given more heart to.

It is a British kitchen sink drama at a time and in a place, that wasn’t making them as much. It is gritty, fabulous and above all else a clever feature film that still stands the test of time.
