Let's Start With This One...

Good Afternoon Lovelies, 

Since the start of January, I have been meaning to get this post out in the open, but with waiting for my delivery to arrive, job interviews and a whole host of life admin, it has been nuts. Just before Christmas, I took off with my mum to Disneyland Paris (posts coming soon!) and since then I have been Disney mad. I am a new person and a Disney lover at large.

When the January sales hit, there was only going to be one place for me because of this. That’s right the Shop Disney store! And did I shop! Right now, in my house, I don’t think there is a room that hasn’t had a touch of Disney put in it and it makes me so happy that I wanted to share with you all what I picked up. And the very kind Disney gift that I was sent, which my mum has stolen from me.
I am fully blaming Shop Disney for this haul…

Disney X TOMS Cinderella Slip Ons: Luckily for me, I can get my tiny feet into TOMS youth sized shoes, so when I spotted these in the sale, I just had to have them. I have been longing for them since they came out last year, but I didn’t want to spend all that money on them. Picking these up for just over £20 was my January sale bargain.


Aladdin Denim Jacket: Oh My Disney is one of my favourite and least favourite collections online. One because I adore them and two because I can’t help myself and I want to buy everything that they produce. Including this jacket. Originally £50, I managed to pick this up for £14.99 (bargain klaxon) and I now have big plans to decorate it in Disney iron-on patches and pins. Unfortunately, it is no longer online in the UK, but you can still pick it up on the USA website lovelies.


The Nightmare Before Christmas Oogie Boogie Roulette Dish: This dish was the first thing I spotted in the sale and knew that we needed it in our home. I waited and waited for it to go down a little more and when it got to £12.99, I couldn’t wait any longer. It is now sat next to our printer filled with sweet treats that people can enjoy, which right now is all the leftover candy canes aha!


The Nightmare Before Christmas Mickey Bauble Socks: Every year my mum does a morning stocking for me, which is filled with a breakfast treat, teabags, magazines and festive socks. She didn’t manage to get some last year, so in preparation for the big day this year, she told me to get them, so that she is prepared. Is it bad that I am already wishing for Christmas 2019 because of this?


Tiny Big Feet Christmas Mickey: Both my mum and I had never heard of the Tiny Big Feet collection at Disney before, but when we spotted this little elf Mickey, he had to come into our home. My mum is nicknamed after Buddy the Elf and if we spot anything elf related, we normally find a space for it. I was so happy with how cute this was that I now want the whole collection. Starting with the St Patrick’s Day Chip N’ Dale!


Finally, we come to something I was gifted that didn’t manage to come in time to be shared before Christmas but has been loved by my mum since they did. In Next’s men’s range, they make super comfy lounge bottoms for chilling around the house or going to bed in. Amongst them is some brilliantly themed pieces including these Disney Grumpy bottoms (I couldn't find the link but this will take you Next's full Disney collection).


When I unpacked them, I was going to give them to my dad, but my mum said that they were too good for him and has now claimed them as her new evening wear. I also think she took them as a little reminder of my dad, who we have all sad is Grumpy from Snow White. I am a little sad that they weren’t in my size, because I really want them. They feel so soft and cosy, which is exactly the thing to snuggle up in and I have now taken to looking around the Next men’s range for a pair of my own.


This is the first time I have ever done a haul post lovelies and I really enjoyed sharing with you all my new purchases. I would never do this to brag or anything like that and I hope that this has been reflected. I just want to share the pieces with you, to find new Disney goodness to enjoy. Valentine’s Day has hit the shops and in full force lovelies aha! I must admit, I am not the biggest fan of the day, because I feel like you should tell the people you love that you love them every day. However, this year I am trying not to be a Valentine’s Scrooge and embrace it, by sharing all the love.

As well as embracing all the rom-coms that are going to be all over Netflix, TV and Amazon Prime Video! Who else is with me?!? Having received a very exciting email this morning, with the best of what’s new or coming to Amazon Prime, it also seemed fitting to let you know about them in the run-up to the big day, so you can plan your binge-watching date night in. And to stop them from watching an episode before you that would lead to a not so happy Valentine’s Day.

GLOW, Netflix (SAG Award Winner): One to enjoy on Galentine’s Day night’s in, this is the ultimate fighting champion of shows you need to watch. Your friendships will come out even stronger!

The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills (Season 9, Weekly Episodes), hayu (Available from the 13th February): If you have been married to your partner for a long time and Valentine’s Day isn’t your thin anymore, embrace the world of these housewives and their marriages instead. Even your partner will fall for them.

There are so many options to choose from lovelies and I haven’t been paid or forced to say that by Amazon Prime either aha! I simply love a good romantic shop. Give me Gossip Girl, Bridget Jones, Dirty Dancing, Pretty Woman and even more classic shows and films and I will be your woman. In fact, you can often find me delving into them whenever I can, which has been quite often lately as I hibernate in bed during these cold months aha!


You can easily enjoy them via your TV though lovelies, with the Alexa Voice Remote and Fire TV Stick that has just come out that allows you to delve deeper into the shows by giving you the options to ask about something you are watching. For example, when watching The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel, try asking: Alexa, who is The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel? And it will pull up the answer for you. Okay, so I am going to start this post by saying that I was a bit of an idiot last night! I thought that the SAG Awards red carpet was going to be streamed live on E! like many of them are (and this one has been before). However, when I went onto the channel at 11pm, I found that it wasn’t being shown in the UK, cue a meltdown!

Thankfully, People were sharing the red carpet live on Twitter, which meant I could tweet a few of my favourite looks and moments. It is always a delight to see Dawn French and Emilia Fox back on our screens in Delicious. After two incredible series, they are back in their third outing, which sees them working to keep the hotel up and running in a world of madness.

Stepping into Penrose Hotel, the show sees Sam (Fox) and Gina (French) host a charity event at the establishment. Still uncertain about the status of their friendship, the event comes at a time when the pair don’t know what they want to do about the future of the hotel. Especially when harmony doesn’t look like it is going to last between them. Or the people they face every day when a new face threatens the pair's relationship even more.

Both thrilling and funny, the third season of Delicious is a warm mixture of pure delight. There are times when you want to change everything about the pair, but moments where everything feels right. It is a true British TV classic that is led with superb talent from French and Fox. A twosome who have become iconic in their ways as these two faces.

A downside to the third season is the fact that it is only four episodes long. All good things come to an end quickly and this show is one of them with its short seasons. This is a true winter delight that will get you through the cold winter months.

Tonight is the SAG Awards and so I decided to have a little fun and gather some of the best beauty products those taking to the event have raved about. All of which that give an award-winning glow!

I normally stick to my very simple routine, but after Amazon sent me a delightful new cream (mentioned below), I had a little look around the site to see what they had to offer. Ranging from all different prices (the most current below), the website has a huge selection that your favourite stars are loving and all these products can be found on Amazon’s New Year New You site:

Clarisonic Mia Smart Facial Cleansing Device, £185: Regular red-carpet stars Gwyneth Paltrow, Charlize Theron and Olivia Wilde have all raved about this product lovelies. Since its launch, more and more people are using them and seeing results. I purchased one a few years ago (a Christmas present to me aha!) and whilst I will admit that I don’t use it all the time, but when I do, I see a difference.


Elemis Superfood Facial Oil, £44.24 for 15ml: Lily James, Alicia Vikander and Saoirse Ronan are fans of the Elemis brand, which works to include organic products into their range continuously. The new Superfood collection includes real food produce (broccoli, radish and Flax Seed) to help give that award-winning glow to skin. I haven’t tried this one yet lovelies, but I was kindly gifted (#AD) by the team the Superfood Day Cream and its already made a big difference to the dark marks my cystic acne has left.

John Frieda Detox & Repair Care & Heat Protect Spray, £5.99: Scarlett Johansson, Naomi Watts and Nicole Kidman have all passed through the doors of John Frieda’s salon and there isn’t a hairdresser who hasn’t used his products. When I straighten my hair, on the very odd occasion, I always use John Frieda’s heat protection because it smells delicious and my hair has never been damaged.


L'Oreal Paris Smooth Sugar Clear Kiwi Face and Lip Scrub, £5.32 for 50ml: If you have never used a L’Oreal product before, you are seriously missing out lovelies. I adore their Micellar Water, which has completely changed my skin. As have the endless products they make to help change the beauty world for the beauty, including this new face and lip scrub, which I am sure many celeb fans such as Julianne Moore, Helen Mirren and Blake Lively will adore too.

Neutrogena Visibly Clear Light Therapy Acne Mask, £28.99: Celebrities such as Kate Hudson and Jessica Alba are using light therapy to help their skin, making them look even more radiant for the red carpet than they already are. Perfect for clearing those evil spots, this is high on my wishlist to try, even if I think I will look like a stormtrooper aha!


Nip+Fab Dragons Blood Fix Hyaluronic Shot, £15 for 30ml: The name of this is like something they would call an episode of Game of Thrones, yet when Kylie Jenner first raved about this product, it became a must-have. Saving hundreds, this product is said to plump skin and give the perfect no make up skin glow.

OLAY Regenerist 3 Point Super Serum, £15 for 50ml: Westworld’s Thandie Newton was the face of Olay for years and her looks on the red-carpet never fail. From innovative new whip designs to make up with a difference, Olay has cemented their name in the beauty hall of fame with this new serum.


I will admit that I am not the best beauty person and I very rarely wear make-up, but I do have a skincare routine that I stick to. I always wash my face with either the L'Oreal or Garnier micellar water before using a Maybelline Baby Lips lip balm or Vaseline and my Neutrogena Visibly Clear oil-free moisturiser. I also always exfoliate my face at least twice a week with St Ives apricot exfoliating face scrub and the Body Shop Vanilla Pumpkin hand cream is a must due to my Raynaud’s. Is anyone else feeling like Netflix have upped their game with their original documentaries recently? I honestly can’t get enough! The Fyre Festival one just blew my mind at the whole situation and the people involved. As of yesterday, I am having my mind blown again with the Ted Bundy Tapes docuseries.

I am more than halfway through them and I have had to take a little break because I just can’t get over some of the things that happened during that time period and by that man. It is evil at its worse. It probably also didn’t help that I also did some research on him, as I felt like I kept missing bits, which led me to very little sleep.

Created by Joe Berlinger, the series comes just before his new Sky Cinema Original film, Extremely Wicked, Shockingly Evil and Vile, starring Zac Efron as Bundy, premieres at the Sundance Festival. Telling Bundy’s story from the point of view of his ex-girlfriend Liz (Lily Collins), the film captures the darkness happening behind their picturesque life of bliss when Ted is arrested. Trying to figure out how well she really knows him and their life, concern turns to paranoia, as the evidence piles up.

Also starring Kaya Scodelario, John Malkovich, Angela Sarafyan, Jim Parsons and Haley Joel Osment, this is going to be the film that gives us all nightmares this year. Watch the new trailer below:

Good Afternoon Lovelies, 

Paul Feig will forever be a hero of mine. The man helped me get a first in my degree, for his honesty when I interviewed him for my dissertation. Back then, we discussed his well-known comedies. However, today marks the release of a new chapter for Feig. A thrilling one at that!

Placing Anna Kendrick and Blake Lively in the centre of the big screen adaption of A Simple Favour, based on the Darcey Bell’s novel, Feig has done a Taylor Swift and reinvented himself and his direction with this new chapter in his delightful story. Kendrick plays mum vlogger Stephanie, a single mother to her son, who becomes obsessed with the lifestyle of Lively’s Emily. A woman who knows what she wants from life and how to manipulatively get it. Until she goes missing.

As Stephanie and Emily’s husband, Sean, played by Henry Golding, search for her – whilst getting wrapped up in their own romance – Stephanie faces an identity crisis. One that she isn’t sure if it has been planted on her or not. The film is a pure mixture of delight, humour (thank you bitchy dad Andrew Rannells) and shock at the lives of those on screen.

There is a sense that you are not meant to like any of those you are witnessing. You are not meant to connect with them. But you are meant to be intrigued by them. And there is no denying that. Lively and Kendrick play off each other in a way that makes you want to watch them in everything. Lively brings back the essence of Serena van der Woodsen if she had been left to be brought up in the way her family wanted her to be. Whilst Kendrick plays the vlogger mum in such a way that you could imagine her having her own show like the one, she presents.

The film does slide in places and instead of going full-on Hitchcock noir it loses some of its darkness. Even becoming a bit over the top with incestuous relationships and affairs. Yet, this doesn’t stop you from wanting to find out about these characters and what will become of them. It is a cocktail mixed of Gone Girl with The Girl on a Train that the ladies in the film sip to bring joy. All because of the way Feig still manages to bring in his very slick sense of comedy.

Unlike anything we have seen from Feig before, A Simple Favour flows like a French drama with the beauty of a dark tale to guide it. With an all-star cast, a gripping script and a storyline that will leave you wondering about it for weeks, it is a new chapter in the director’s story and one that I can’t wait to turn the page on to see more like.

Many of you will know that I am very passionate about sharing news or items on people who may not have their voices heard. I believe we all have the right to be celebrated and I found great joy when I heard this news from BAFTA.

Did you or someone you know fight to save a local cinema? Or did you take the cinema to the locals on wheels? Do you know someone’s who’s been popping popcorn behind the counter for years? Or have you been managing a cinema for an extraordinary length of time? Then BAFTA and EE want to recognise all the hard work you or that special someone does.

As part of a new tradition to mark the film awards that take place each year, the BAFTA and EE teams have created the ultimate competition. Called, For The Love of Film, the pair will welcome that unsung hero of the film industry as guests at this year’s event. Plus, they will also receive an overnight stay at The Savoy, a private chauffeur to the ceremony in an Audi A8, hair and make-up appointments from Paul Edmonds London and Lancôme, Atelier Swarovski loaned jewellery to complete their red carpet look, and the official Nominee Gift Bag given to award nominees which includes a Nespresso VertuoPlus coffee machine, Bottletop tote, a magnum of S.Pellegrino water, and official souvenir brochures and red carpet photographs!

And how are we all this week? I am going to start by saying a HUGE sorry for not being on here since Monday. I started a new job and left within a day, as I really didn’t feel that the way in which the company was run would support my eating disorder recovery. I have since seen two doctors who have both agreed with me and finally, I am feeling like myself a little bit.

A new year means new ideas or themes on the blog! Amongst them is a slightly different approach to some of the Monday reviews I do. The amazing team at Arrow Films have always supported me and allowed me to review some true classics and whilst I normally do each review separately, I have decided to turn things around a bit.

With Sylvester Stallone and Ryan Guzman leading the way in this action-packed film, this crime thriller should reach furious heights. Yet, the plot fails to entrap viewers, as Stallone’s local detective tries to prevent a prison break out from happening, all in the world of a drug takedown. Everything is played out so fast that the script lacks much of a story and the characters are forgotten by the time the credits roll. There so I am giving it…

GOT’s Sophie Turner joins with Dylan McDermott to tell the story of high school student Josie, who leaves home to live in the rundown Pink Motel, where she meets Hank (McDermott). Together the pair builds a strong friendship, but Hank’s troubled past means that things soon take a dark turn. The film constantly tries to take on the form of a modern-day film noir, yet the story fails to go beyond what is played out and no surprises or stones are left unturned. Easy to guess what is going to happen next plot holes, created moments of drifting when watching, as the film run time drags on. When a twist is delivered it comes to late to save the feature. Born Yesterday – Out on Blu-Ray from the 21st January
You know the phrase don’t look back? Well, sometimes you just must because that is where the beauty of the film world often is. Adapted from the Garson Kanin Broadway hit, Born Yesterday, still manages to wrap audiences up in a warm hug when watching, as Judy Holliday’s Billie Dawn learns about the world of different classes and intelligence through Paul Verrell. All in the hopes to not show up tycoon Harry Brock. The film is outdated on its subject matter and would not be made today, but it does still manage to entertain without being offensive. Waterworld – Out on Blu-Ray from the 21st January
If you looked at the case in which Waterworld comes in, you wouldn’t be wrong in thinking that it looks a little bit of a mess. However, in January 2019, the film is still proving people wrong. Kevin Costner’s Mariner drifts around the dystopian underwater world the Earth has become. Getting wrapped up in crime and dismay, the Mariner discovers that the only way to save himself is to help a woman and little girl to find the magical place known as ‘dryland’. Known for being the most expensive film ever made the year it came out, there is no denying the impressive look of the film is what draws audiences to it. Still, to this day, Costner and co’s adventures are enjoyable to see and this cult hit sure to continue to be so for a long time. It is there so time to let this rating sink in…


Speed Kills – Out on DVD and Digital HD from the 21st January
After returning to our screens in unrecognisable fashion in The People Vs OJ, John Travolta has been showcasing a new side to his career. However, he may want to hide this feature, as Speed Kills fails to bring any life with it. Based on a true story, the film follows Travolta’s speedboat racing champion, who is found to be a drug trafficker on the side, as he fights to escape the DEA and the Mob. What looks to be a high-speed chase becomes a bit of a duck race, as the features fast edits, voiceover and script provide nothing of a story for audiences. The whole feature is a blend of confusion and even when it reaches the end you are not quite sure what you have seen. There so, I am giving it…

As many of you lovelies know, I love to see what the stars are wearing on the red carpet. For me, a suit is always a winner and if an outfit has pockets than you can guarantee that it is going to go to the top of my must-have list.
