Love, Lies and Records Season One DVD Review

Good Morning Lovelies,

Created by the brilliant Kay Mellor, Love, Lies and Records is the brand-new drama from BBC, which is working its way on to DVD and Blu-ray as of today! Starring Ashley Jenson and Rebecca Front, this dramedy pushes the boundaries throughout.

Following registrar Kate Dickenson (Jenson), as she tries to juggle her personal life with the added dramas of births, marriages, and deaths, the film sees the real impact that her role in society has on not only her but the people around her.

While many would assume that the world of work for a registrar is a happy one, this one shows that the drama doesn’t just stay in the office. Faced with a new role at work, Kate goes home and brews over it in one scene, something many people will be able to connect with. However, her work worries are also brought on by the people she meets. With added pressure to make sure they are okay with her own feelings, it does call for tough viewing at times.

Jenson plays the role brilliantly and this is definitely one of her best parts to date. Front is a brilliant partner on screen for her and the two bounce off each other, through their experiences and commitments.

There are some sloppy parts, however, which lead to a little bit of love loss for the show, but this is overruled in many ways but the commitments seen on screen.

Overall, I am giving this show a loving…
