Jelly Babies Turn Tropical To Brighten Our Winter Film Nights In

Good Afternoon Lovelies,

As we near to Christmas, the shops will be full of festive treats! Sweets, biscuits (yummy shortbread and gingerbread here I come) and food coma-inducing chocolates. All of which come in many festive packages.

However, at Maynards Bassett, they are going for something a little different as they welcome a tropical treat into the family. For many, the festive season is a chance to enjoy Jelly Babies to the max.

So when it was announced that a new tropical tasting packet was going to be announced it was rather exciting. In banana, mango and pineapple flavours, the new babies on the block are an instant reminder of that summer holiday you went on just months before. Something I wanted to put to the test.

Kindly the Maynards team sent me an amazing with original and tropical packets inside to trial the two side by side. Something I knew my family would be able to do well.

After opening up the packets and being instantly able to smell the difference in them, I placed them in a mixture on the table. Whilst doing this I could definitely see the different colours of each set. The new tropical flavours were a lot lighter, making their summer vibes shine through.

However, this isn’t what we were here to do. In a sit down that reflected a scene from The Godfather, my family took it in turns to try out the new flavours. My dad was the first and it was actually a great moment for him. Since he had his stroke he has found it hard to taste, but he could get the flavours of the new sweets really well. Especially the banana flavour.

Next up was my mum, who is a fan of Jelly Babies, but also someone who can take them or leave them. First up she told me she didn’t want the banana one, as my mum has a weird hatred for bananas since she was pregnant with me, so I handed her the mango and pineapple flavours to try. Instantly she fell in love with the pineapple flavour and said that she would have loved a bag full of them.

Ultimately the treats went down well in our house, with my dad tucking into a bag all to himself in the end aha. Whilst I am sure they will stay faithful to the old Jelly Babies, the new tropical ones are bringing the sun into our autumn cosy home, making for the perfect treat or film night heroes.

Look out for them in your local supermarket or high street shops lovelies!
