Universal Release First Look At Saoirse Ronan As Mary, Queen of Scots!

Good Afternoon Lovelies,

Sadly we haven’t had a new film on the blog for a long time, but that is all about to change! Fresh from the set, Universal has released the first still of Saoirse Ronan in Mary, Queen of Scots. And she looks amazing!

Directed by Josie Rourke, produced by Tim Bevan, Eric Fellner and Debra Hayward, the Beau Willimon written film also stars Margot Robbie as Elizabeth I, Jack Lowden, Joe Alwyn, Martin Compston, David Tennant, Guy Pearce and Brendan Coyle in a film about the incredible life of Mary Stuart.

Take a look at Ronan as the monarch below lovelies...

Sharing with audiences the early life of the monarch, the film captures her becoming the Queen of France at 16 before becoming a widow at 18. Wanting to leave behind the pressure to get remarried, she returns home to Scotland to get back her throne, but finds that Elizabeth I is running the UK.

Worried about what the other could do, the sisters find themselves in a power battle, causing Mary to betray everyone around her to claim the English throne and to end Elizabeth’s reign.

Speaking about the film, focus chairman Peter Kujawski said, “We are privileged to be collaborating with our partners at Working Title on this stellar production, and with Josie as she makes the exciting move from stage to screen work. With two of today’s most vital actresses bringing to life two female titans, Mary, Queen of Scots will be one of the movie events of 2018.”

This looks sooooo good lovelies!!!
