Hey Lovelies,
The Nest was a show on BBC One that I wasn’t sure I was
going to enjoy. With an incredible cast and an interesting storyline, it had
everything about it that would make even the most TV hater want to watch it,
but there was just something about it I was not sure about. However, I am glad I gave
the series a chance. You will be too if you catch in on DVD, Blu-Ray and
digitally from today.
Starring Line of Duty’s Martin Compston and Peaky Blinders
Sophie Rundle, the pair play a married couple, who long for a child of their
own. However, after years of sadly trying for one, they are unable to. Over the
course of five episodes, we see their dreams become true though when they make
a pact with a teenage girl to carry their child. Yet, not all is as it seems.
From the first episode, the joy in which you feel for the
couple having a baby is soon switched on its head, when we learn of the dark
world in which the young teenager is placing them in. Murder, money, and
darkness throughout, cause this to be a thrilling viewing from the moment it
begins. But this does also lead to times when the storyline can be a little bit
over the top.
Rundle and Compston are both compelling and able to lead the
show in a manner that you will enjoy. It is mostly problems with the script
that will leave you wondering if what you are watching is really all that good.
However, you will not be able to stop. You will get more drawn in if anything,
as you want to know what the pair are going to do when they find out the truth
and how the future will play out for them.
The show is a clever, refreshing TV thriller, but it does
have several faults that you may have to forgive if you are to get to the end.
Not one to lead onto a second series, this is an independent feature that once
watched will stay with you for a long time to come.
