Good Morning Lovelies, 

Hamlet is a Shakespeare story that I believe everybody knows a lot about! Even if you have never read the play, you will know what it is about, due to the endless retellings and takes on the bard's work. Yet, none of them have been portrayed like that in the 2025 take of the classic play. 

Starring Timothy Spall and Riz Ahmed, this version is given a modern London setting, allowing for beautiful city shots and grizzly dark takes of the capital, as it presents the story in a whole new glory. With even flashes of the iconic Globe theatre within it too. All whilst providing a new side to the acting talents on screen. 

Ahmed leads the cast beautifully, as the newest version of Hamlet. He provides a breath of fresh air for new audiences to accept the character in an entirely different way. With a powerful portrayal that forces you to feel so many reactions and emotions to his disastrous acts, it is a film that will leave you thinking about what else can be adapted in this way in regards to Shakespeare’s plays. 

Throughout, you feel like you are watching a stage performance take place, even though the camera shots and cinematography make you fully aware of the power of film. Ahmed would work wonders taking his portrayal onto the stage if he were to do so at a later time. The film is truly a beautiful retelling of an iconic piece of the English language, which will delight audiences of young and old.
