St Patrick’s Day Week: Create The Ultimate Irish Dessert To Celebrate The Big Event!

We had a hearty stew but now I have an exciting sweet delight for you all to enjoy this St Patrick’s Day! Using only five ingredients, many of which that are found in the heart of the country, you will be serving this up for every St Patrick’s Day from now on! Get those spoons ready because you are going to love this!

Good Morning Lovelies, 


In both England and Ireland, bread and butter pudding is a big thing! Once known for being a true classic dish, it has recently had a bit of a revival. There so, I thought it would be fun, in the lead up to St Patrick’s Day, to give it a little Irish makeover using some of their iconic ingredients. 


Get ready to be digging into this delight for years to come lovelies, as it is so easy to make and a real joy to eat. Aprons on lovelies, it is time to get baking…


Ingredients

One Irish Tea Loaf With Fruit

Two Large Eggs

Three Tablespoons of Irish Whiskey

Three Tablespoons of Brown Sugar

300ml of Irish Cream or Plain Cream


Tools

A Small Baking Dish

A Mixing Bowl

A Whisk

A Knife

A Chopping Board


Methods

  1. Start by preheating your oven to 180°C (350°F), before taking your baking dish and greasing it. Place to one side. 
  2. Grab your chopping board and knife and carefully slice the fruit loaf into thick pieces. Layer these into the baking dish in anyway you wish. 
  3. In a mixing bowl, add in the cream, eggs, whiskey and sugar. Whisk together until smooth. 
  4. Carefully pour the custard like mixture over the slices of fruit loaf. Make sure that these are well coated before leaving it to sit for ten minutes. This will allow the loaf to absorb the liquids.
  5. Once the loaf is ready, place into the oven and bake for around 25 to 30 minutes or until golden and set. 
  6. When baked, take it out and enjoy warm with cream, ice cream, custard or a big old splash of Baileys!
