00:00:00

We have reached the weekend, which means that it is the most perfect time to host a film marathon! Keeping with our St Patrick’s Day celebrations,  I have found some of the best Irish films to snuggle up with and enjoy! Grab your friends, family, popcorn, sweets and all the cosiest blankets you own to snuggle up and watch these Irish cinematic wonders with!

Good Morning Lovelies,

With such a huge amount of love for Ireland, I have watched many films and TV shows set within it. Watching the familiar streets of Dublin appear on my screen makes my heart fill with joy.  Honestly, I think I could watch a zombie film based there and still love it aha!

There so, as we continue our St Patrick’s Day week, I thought we could all spend this weekend enjoying these Irish film wonders! You will find a little something for everyone in the list below, as the Irish know how to make a good feature. Enjoy lovelies…

Kneecap: This Irish documentary style film has broken records and won a number of awards for its fantastic story about the Irish language. You will fall in love with each member of the feature from the moment they appear.

Sing Street: From the moment I first saw this film I loved it! Whether it’s the classic 80s feel, the iconic music or the lovable cast, it is a feature that gave Irish cinema a rebirth in a very beautiful way.

Once: Sticking with musicals, Once is probably one of the most heartbreaking musicals around. The yearning you will feel for the two characters to be together will have you hooked on the story. Still as iconic today as it was when it first came out.

Belfast: This story about the troubles shows hope whilst facing hardships! With a fantastic cast including Dame Judi Dench, Jamie Dornan and more, you will love this semi-biographic feature. Especially when you see Jamie Dornan singing near the end!

‘71: Jack O’ Connell leads this film as a soldier in the troubles! Brutally honest and unflinching, the feature is packed with drama that will have you hooked from start to finish.

What Irish film is your favourite lovelies? Let me know! I am always happy to watch more Irish features! My screens light up from it!
