The Elmer Adventure Theatre Show Review
00:00:00Elmer! We all remember and love that gorgeous elephant from our childhood and rightly so! However, it has now been recreated in a series of new tales that are playing out on the big stage. The blog’s Mini bloggers headed into Manchester’s Lowry Theatre to get a slice of the action! And boy was it a colourful adventure for all! Here’s what happened!
Good Morning Lovelies,
When I was younger, I can remember endlessly reading Elmer! The beautiful elephant was one of my mum’s favourite, meaning she took true delight reading the story to me, as I sat on her knee in awe of it all.
The colourful elephant was a true wonder in my eyes, who has now touched the lives of my niece and nephew, aka the mini bloggers. Therefore, when I was offered the opportunity to enjoy the book in a new stage version called, The Elmer Adventure, I jumped at the chance to take them.
Picking the showing at The Lowry Theatre in Manchester, we were quick to get into the building, after a few pictures of course, to get in on all the rainbow coloured action. After a bit of a mishap at the box office, the lovely team took us to our seats, which were in a box, leading to further excitement, as we had a perfect view of the stage.
With only a little while to wait, the showing started promptly, with the cast and creators coming out to entertain. Getting the audience involved from start to finish, they worked hard to show everyone, both young and old, a truly good time.
Portraying a number of different stories, the cast were inclusive, with disabled actors taking on key roles, which was fantastic to see, as theatre has lacked this before. It truly meant that the children watching could see that no matter who you are you can do anything. Something the little bloggers really loved.
Right at the end, we were treated to the ultimate delight though, which was Elmer herself. Beautiful in every way, all the young children watching cheered in real joy at seeing the elephant in person. It brought the biggest grins to our little bloggers, in a way that the cast interactions did too. Just be warned, water guns are involved!
Overall, the show lasted for around an hour, which was perfect for our little three year old to sit through. Both her and her nine year old brother loved every second, both failing to get restless, which was just what we wanted. It truly was the most perfect way to spend a morning and if you can catch it either in Manchester or London then you should lovelies! It’s a fun colourful way to brighten any day!
