Feel Refreshed This Friday With My Easy Flower Jam Tarts Recipe

00:00:00

Good Morning Lovelies,

Spring is officially in the air! The mornings are getting lighter earlier, with the birds singing away as soon as the day breaks. The temperature is rising. There are leaves back on the trees. Everything is pointing towards summer.

There so, to mark the start of a fresh season, I thought I would bring you a super easy recipe that only needs three ingredients. Looking incredibly pretty, these flower shaped jam tarts will add a pop of colour into your home that will last all year!

Here is what you need and the method to use to create them…

Ingredients

One Pack of Shortcrust Pastry

One Jar of Jam - Pick Your Favourite Flavour or Use a Mix of Colours

Icing Sugar - To Sprinkle on Top

Equipment

A Rolling Pin

A Cupcake/Muffin Tin

A Flower Shaped Cutter

A Teaspoon

A Sieve or Sugar Sprinkler

Plate or Wire Rack

Method

Start your creations by preheating the oven to 180°C/350°F before greasing your cupcake tray. Leave to one side.

Lightly sprinkle your work surface with some flour and roll out your pastry. You can use ready rolled pastry if easier.

Once rolled, use your flower shaped cutter and cut out the shapes until all the pastry has been used up.

Gently place the flowers into the tin to form the tart shells. Make sure they are touching the bottom and sides of the tin.

Next, take your teaspoon and add a dollop of your chosen jam or jams into each flower middle. Be careful not to over fill the case, as the jam may bubble up when baking.

Once ready, place the tarts into the oven and bake for around 12 to 15 minutes or until golden brown. Make sure to watch them in case they start to burn.

When ready, pop out of the oven and allow them to cool in the pan for a few minutes. Then carefully place them onto a plate or wire rack to cool completely. During this time you can sprinkle the icing sugar on top.

The flowers are now ready to be eaten! They will keep fresh for a few days in an airtight container lovelies, so you can make plenty of them to enjoy with the family, friends or on your own with a blissful cup of tea. It’s truly time to smell the roses or in this case jam flowers!
