Back To School Week: Enjoy My Classic Chocolate Concrete Recipe This Weekend!
00:00:00After Tuesday’s discussion about the best school dinners, I found that a lot of people really loved the chocolate concrete biscuit/cake that was served with pink custard! And I mean a lot of you aha!
To celebrate the weekend, I thought it was only right to share a recipe that you can spend tonight, tomorrow and forever recreating to take you and your family or friends back to school.
Super easy and with only a few ingredients, let the school bell chime for the good times that will be had with this recipe…
Ingredients
240g/2 Cups of Plain Flour
225g/1 Cup and 2 Tbsp of Granulated Sugar
60g/8 Tbsp of Cocoa Powder
115g/1/2 Cup of Butter
2 Extra Tbsp of Granulated Sugar (To Go On Top!)
Tools
Square Baking Tin
Baking Paper
Mixing Bowl
Fork
Saucepan or Microwavable Bowl
Spoon
Method
Start by preheating your oven to 180C/350F. Then take a square tin, grease and line with baking paper. Place to one side.
In a mixing bowl, add the flour, sugar and cocoa powder, before stirring it all together with a fork.
Take the butter and melt it in the microwave or in a pan. Once ready, pour it into the dry ingredients and mix together with the fork. Then using your hands, continue to mix the ingredients until you have a wet, sand like, texture.
When fully combined, pour the mixture into the tin, using the back of a spoon to flatten it into an even layer.
Place into the oven and bake for 20mins. When ready, remove and spray with a little water and sprinkle the extra sugar on top. The water will help it to stick!
Allow to cool or enjoy warm with custard right away! Pink custard is optional!
Will you be baking this back to school beauty? What was your favourite school dinner pudding? Let me know!
