Hey Lovelies,

Happy Halloween Everyone! Today marks my final Blogtober post and I have to say I am quite sad to see it come to an end. I’ve had moments of madness, creativity and uncertainty with it. I am proud though that I managed to complete it for the first time ever though. I’ve also learnt a whole load from it.

With so much happening in the world today and lots of festive events, I wasn’t sure how to end it though. Do I just wrap it up? Do I do a fun post? A thank you one? I was really unsure. Yet, I decided to end it with a little memory post about my favourite Halloween. I’ve been to parties. I have been trick or treating. I’ve stayed in and had film nights. Out of all of them though this is the main memory that has stayed with me.

When I was little, my mum didn’t really like Halloween. She wasn’t a fan of trick or treating and saw it a bit like begging. However, she never stopped me from going out and enjoying the festivities. One year though, her friend Janice, whose kids my mum used to child-mind, decided to host a Halloween party in their garden.

My mum got me all dressed up in a little vampire outfit. Even with the fake blood and fangs and walked me up the street to her house. Never have I felt cooler than in that moment. When we reached her door, it was covered in spooky decorations and when she opened it up, they followed us inside.

There was only a few of us at the party, but I remember the costumes and the games. We played one were doughnuts were placed on string and hung up. You had to get the doughnut off the string with only your mouth to win and I can recall it being super hard at the time.

We also bobbed for apples, had races and enjoyed a feast of spooky foods. Hot dogs, sticky toffees and tons of sweets. It was the first time that I really saw what Halloween was all about and I think it was the night I fell in love with it.

I have spent the last week decorating my home and getting it ready for the big event. I won’t be hosting a party or going out this year, but I will be making sure that I do lots and watch lots of spooky things to celebrate. In just a few short days, Bonfire Night will be here too and I can’t wait to celebrate that as well.

For now, though, I am ready in my Wednesday Addams getup (plaits and lots of black), cosied up and sad to see the end of Blogtober. I hope you have all enjoyed it and had fun with it. I’m debating whether to do Blogmas at the moment as well, so keep an eye out for that and the annual Christmas gift guide soon lovelies. Oh, and thanks again for helping me this month!

Happy Halloween!
