Hey Lovelies,

Sadly, two years ago, my mums best friend Janice died from cancer. When I was little, I remember her fighting boldly with breast cancer, before heading into remission. However, a few years later, the horrid illness returned in her bones. Seeing someone change from the illness changed my life and I can’t tell you how important checking myself become.

Now, I check everything, have signed up to text messages to remind me and will even get my mum to take a look as well if something is odd. I don’t even have any boobs, but I still make the time to do it. I know that it can be hard and stressful though to know if you are doing it right.

Over the weekend, I headed online and looked around to find some of the most helpful places to help you check yourself correctly and to get guidance and help on everything to do with the illness. Please find them below:

CoppaFeel!: This great company found me at V Festival a few years ago. Walking around the stalls, a person dressed as a giant boob jumped out at me and asked if I would like to sign up to a text alert, which would remind me each month to check myself. Of course, I said yes straight away. Now, I get an easy message, often quite a fun one, and make sure to check when I next can. A simple text can save your life by signing up lovelies.

Wear It Pink/Breast Cancer Awareness: A specialist website dedicated to helping you know how to check, get advice and providing care for those suffering from the horrible illness. This is the place that started Breast Cancer Awareness Month and celebrates Wear It Pink on the 18th October. Be sure to use their website for advice and tips on everything to do with the condition and to make sure you check properly.

Breast Cancer Now: Working alongside the Wear It Pink campaign, this charity provides information on how to check, fundraise and lots more regarding the work of eliminating breast cancer once and for all. Specialising in secondary breast cancer, the team are sharing stories around the world at the moment from survivors and sufferers to help others. Check them out to see how you can get involved.

Cancer Research UK: Giving guidance on all types of cancer, not just breast, Cancer Research UK is working with all the charities to try and kill cancer once and for all. It will not beat us lovelies and charities such as this one and all those mentioned here are working together to help break it. Head to their website to find out how you can raise money, get help or to find support.

NHS/Your GP: If you ever find a lump, no matter how big or small it is, go to your doctor and get it checked lovelies. They have seen every body shape and will be happy to help you in any way that they can. Making sure that you get the help and support you need they will be on hand to provide you with the best care possible.

Cancer is fucking evil! I don’t normally swear on the blog, but it makes me so angry that I had to right now. It has taken my mum’s best friend. People we have known our whole lives. It has destroyed families and caused heartache for many. But as a nation, a world even, we can change this and make a difference.

Stop reading this right now and go and check lovelies! Cop a feel, grab a boob, have a fumble. Go all in and really give them a good old feel. Be safe and check lovelies!
