Morning Lovelies,

I am going to raise my hands and admit that I am not the biggest fan of cats. Don’t get me wrong, I can look at them and find them cute, especially kittens, but I think due to being allergic to them they are like an enemy to me. Also, they lick their bums and I can’t deal with that aha!

However, in the world of TV and film, cats have been a bit of a hero figure. Even to me. From Sabrina to Captain Marvel, cats have ruled the roost. Rightly so in many ways when they are this cool. To mark International Cat Day, here are some of the best on-screen felines to watch…

Goose from Captain Marvel: If there was ever a screen stealer this year, it must be Goose in Captain Marvel. The reason behind a lost eye, a dangerous fur ball and a hero in other ways too, Goose is a legend forever now.

Salem in Sabrina the Teenage Witch: Not the new series but the classic 00s version brought to life Salem. The coolest cat that ever lived. Full of sass and gentlemanly charm, Salem was the cat we all wanted. In fact, I still do.

Mufasa from The Lion King: Don’t get me wrong I love Simba, but Mufasa was the coolest feline father to ever appear on-screen. Even when you say his name it sounds cool. Scar will never be forgiven for cutting his time in the film short.

Smelly Cat from Friends: Okay, so we might never get to meet the cat, but when it leads to a song that even people who don’t watch Friends love you have to mention it. Sing along with me now, “Smelly cat, smelly cat, what are they feeding you?”

Disney’s The Aristocats: “Everybody wants to be a cat…,” another great Disney classic that brought with it Mary and co to sing, dance and overall impress us all. The scene in which the piano falls throw the building is one of the best in Disney history.

Garfield: This lasagne loving, sarcastic filled feline, is a lovable rogue in the cat world. With a dog as a best friend and always in trouble, Garfield is easily forgivable when he proves his innocence lying in a pool of lasagne.

I am sure there are many other on-screen cats that have rocked the world of cinema and film lovelies, with these only being a handful. I would love for you to let me know which feline/s your favourites are to celebrate today in the comments below or via social media lovelies!

Meow for now,
