Melody (AKA S.W.A.L.K) DVD Review

Good Morning Lovelies,
Classic films always manage to win our hearts over for different reasons. From the director of Bugsy Malone and The Commitments, Alan Parker made Melody win the hearts of the audience with his characters childhood stories.

Based around the romance between two 11-year-olds called Daniel and Melody, the film shows them grow up being determined to get married. Set in the 1970s, this romance is an innocent look at first love and the rebel ways of children from their point of view.

The 70s are often shown as the party era, but in this British story, Parker has made a film that continues to show audiences the way children struggled during the decade from their own personal and the world’s problems. It is a film that inspired so many others and the words of hose in the film ring clearer today than ever before.

However, there is one clear winner surrounding this film away from its plot and script and that is the soundtrack. The music by the Bee-Gees and more is the perfect 70s soundtrack to show the differences between the two worlds. It goes against the innocent lives of the children and makes it a lot more interesting to the viewers.

This is why I am giving the film...
