Raising Cain DVD Review

Good Morning Lovelies,

The 80s were a time that Brian De Palma used to rule the film screen. With hits including The Untouchables, The Bonfire of the Vanities and much more, De Palma used the later part to bring back his classic thriller genre with Raising Cain.

Starring John Lithgow, the film sees him take on three different characters to explore the way in which one family is affected by multiple personalities. Playing a child psychologist, his evil twin and their father, Lithgow’s role as Carter, sees him having to struggle with his wife’s affair and looking after his daughter.

However, with a mix of personalities, the film highlights how the bizarre family dynamic threatens many elements of their everyday lives, causing tension for all those on screen or involved with them in some way.

As an audience member, it is thrilling to see how the people who work or know minds, have their own affected and all of which that is explored by one actor on his own most of the time. Similar to other classics such as Psycho and even modern films, there is a strong sense of filmmakers at their best in this feature film.

And that is why I am giving it...
