Good Afternoon Lovelies,
And how are we all today? I am getting ready to love you and
still blog to you, but from a very different place lovelies since I am going to
visit my brother. I have been meaning to do so for a long time and after
missing a number of times to do so with my parents because of university I am
finally getting the chance to go! Get ready John, Alexa and Leo if you are
reading this!
However before I go I wanted to give you all this exciting
news from UNHCR, the UN Refugee Agency, as they have announced a new short film
starring Jack O’Connell (be still my beating heart!) and Holliday Grainger
(love her!) to show the challenge of one English family who have to experience
a journey of their own.
Out on the 20th June, the film is called Home and
will address the refugee crisis that is currently happening around the world
lovelies in support of UNHCR’s World Refugee Day - which is the same day. The
film was created by Daniel Mulloy and will be a reminder to all how important
finding a home really is.
Speaking about the film, Gonzalo Vargas Llosa, UK
Representative for UNHCR, said: “UNHCR is delighted to support Home. The film
is a powerful reminder of the importance of a place to call home, which, when
people are forced to flee, can be lost in an instant. At a time of unprecedented forced displacement
around the world, Home is a powerful reminder that becoming a refugee can
happen to any one of us.”
While, director Daniel Mulloy, also said, "we want to
address the disconnect with refugees and do something to rip down the sense of
them and us.”
And actress Arta Dobroshi, the executive producer of Home
says: “When I was living in a war zone, and then became a refugee, I used to
think that if countries in freedom would feel what we are feeling at this
moment. If they would see us as their families, just for one minute, they would
help. And this is exactly what Home does; it puts you in the shoes of refugees.”
Plus lovelies the release of the film will also be marked
with the release of a new app called Blippar which will allow users to share
their support with refugees by scanning their hand into the app to hold theirs.
I absolutely love this idea lovelies!
