SKY ATLANTIC ANNOUNCE RELEASE DATE FOR GOING CLEAR: SCIENTOLOGY AND THE PRISON OF BELIEF...

Hey Lovelies, 

Yesterday Sky announced some huge news about the brand new cast members that would be joining their new show ‘The Young Pope’ and today they have announced a brand new documentary lovelies! 


Coming to Sky Atlantic on the 21st September, ‘Going Clear: Scientology and The Prison of Belief’ will be showing eight members of the Church of Scientology, as they describe what it is like to interact with those who believe in it and what they do for their religion.

The new film is based on the best-selling book by Lawrence Wright lovelies, and goes back to the start of the Church, as it looks at the ways in which founder L. Ron Hubbard created such a popular belief in Hollywood and the claims that are being stated by former members including screenwriter Paul Haggis. 

Speaking about the new documentary, Celia Taylor, Sky’s Head of Non-Scripted Commissioning, commented: “Going Clear is a brilliantly compelling film that unflinchingly probes the secretive world of Scientology through powerful testimony and a beautifully crafted narrative. I am extremely proud of it.” 

As well, Zai Bennett, Director of Sky Atlantic, added: “I’m hugely proud that Sky Atlantic has co-produced Going Clear, especially in light of its recent success gaining seven Emmy nominations. I’m sure that Sky audiences will be captivated by Alex Gibney’s remarkable film.”
