GRACE OF MONACO REVIEW...

Hey Lovelies,

When someone says to you a film is terrible, you sometimes think they are overreacting or believe you will have different feelings about it! This is what I thought about 'Grace of Monaco’ after Cannes, however I bow down to the critics at the festival, as they were right! It is two hours of utter rubbish!

The film has no plot what so ever, meaning you spend two hours looking at a woman change herself for no reason and a war plot that never takes off because Hitchcock loves Grace Kelly so much that he isn't bothered by it when she stays to stop the war with love.

I actually spent most of the film wondering how the hell they knew all this stuff, that was bring mentioned as they even say in the film most of her life, was kept so private once she left Hollywood. It makes you wonder if all the over the top stuff is real.

And well because there is not plot to the film, it is hard to see the incredible acting talents of Nicole Kidman and Tim Roth in the film, as both normally perform incredibly well!
Roth was hardly focused on and I could probably count the number of times he spoke of one hand, which meant while he should have he didn't actually give much to the film. As for Kidman, her normally brilliant acting was let down in this film, and I don't feel it is her to blame, but more so the camera and script. She is made to be too delicate when we all know she can give a powerful performance.

And don't get me started on her costumes, that were supposed to be amazing, but actually weren't all that great! They didn't go into much detail, even it moments that were meant to be stunning, and they were all very bland to what you would expect from this kind of film. She didn’t look anything like Grace Kelly and the big dress at the end was a huge flop.

Oh and be prepared if you do see it for the camera angles! The camera moves way to quickly, causing your eyes to blur, as well as fixing just a little too long on Kidman’s face! It tries so hard to make you believe you are looking into the eyes of the star, but really the angles are just off putting and drag on for too long.

However there is one element of the film, that is really nice and that's the scenery! All I kept thinking was, oh to be on that beach right now aha!

Overall the film is not at all what you would expect and I personally would not watch it again. It is to over the top, the camera angles hurt your eyes and Kidman isn't on her best form, therefore I am giving the film…
