Percy Jackson & The Lightning Thief Review!

Hello My Lovely's,

I know it’s been awhile since I did some reviewing but I have been so busy with exams, my holiday and then my birthday that I haven't been able to fit in many cinema trips. But that is all going to change! I am now back to reviewing films and will be going to the cinema a lot in the next coming weeks.

A little while ago, the lovely people at Fox sent me some films to review and I am going to make sure that I do my best to keep you all entertained with them. So to start off I re-watched Percy Jackson & The Lightning Thief but in Blu-ray edition and I have to say I don't like it anymore.

It was definitely my younger mind that thought it was a good film because it isn't anymore. The way I see it now has really changed my feelings towards the film.

Review:

Directed by Chris Columbus, the life of Percy Jackson may not be plain but it is definitely one of boredom! I honestly was thinking of turning it off. I mean I don't know what I was thinking when I saw it before but I wouldn't watch it again, if you paid me!

The story is so lame when you think about it. I am not a Harry Potter (no offence to those who like it) and I just kept thinking that this film kept trying to be like Potter too much. Compared to this film I would watch all of the Harry Potter films before this one.

One thing that I have to say was good about this film was the lead actor! Logan Lerman is a brilliant young actor and especially in 'The Perks of Being a Wallflower' which is why it is so sad that he is associated with a film like this one. Yes it brought his fame but I think the fact that they have made another one after this is going to bring his acting skills back down again.

As for the plot, well it is action packed I must say that but to the point where it is now to extreme. I mean I honestly could not get over how it went from one thing to the next to the next with a plot that builds up so much to just fall down. It is the same thing that is being repeated in so many Hollywood films nowadays that I find it hard to believe that this film was ever successful in anyone’s eyes.

I would just suggest that fans of the book should watch this film because otherwise I don't think you are going to enjoy it. It is the same thing that many people are redoing over and over again, so don't waste your time on watching what you may have already seen.

This means I am going to give the film...

2 Stars!

Until Next Time...
