Never Stop Believing In Your Childhood Dreams! Now Might Just Be The Time To Achieve Them!

At the age of 31, I am finally learning that I shouldn’t be afraid to go for the things I have always wanted to do. Things I have always wanted to achieve. Goals and aspirations are not something of the past. Not just something we should aim for before we turn 30. They are something we can have and aim for throughout life!

Good Morning Lovelies,

Before I turned 31 a few weeks ago, I sat down and thought about what the first year of being in my 30s had been like. It was during this reflection that I realised that I wanted to be more outgoing. I wanted to do things for myself and not be afraid of what others would think because of it. I wanted to be able to end this next year of my life having done something that would leave my younger self proud.

This need led me to do something that I always wanted to. I shared with Blue Peter, the children's TV show, about the work I had been doing in honour of my dad. The toy charity that we had set up in honour of him after he passed away. I didn’t know what to expect but as someone who has always wanted to be honour with a Blue Peter badge, I thought I would shoot my shot.

Weeks passed and I will be honest, I had completely forgotten that I had shared what I had done with Blue Peter. Until around two weeks ago, when a letter landed on my desk. Opening it up, I was greeted by a blue card with the words Blue Peter all over it.

Unfolding the letter, I was left stunned, as the little badge that I had always wanted was nestled neatly within it. I could not believe it. Reading the letter that accompanied the card and badge, the Blue Peter team stated that they were impressed with the work I had been doing, earning me the prestigious badge.

Getting this little token in the post proved to me that no matter how young or old we are, we should never stop trying to reach our goals in life. When I was little, I kept trying to think of what I could tell them about to try and get one, yet, I never felt brave enough to do so. And I should have been!

Reaching this new year, I will be taking this little sign to encourage myself to keep trying to do what my head sometimes tells me I can’t do. I will be braver. I will be more prepared to embark on the unknown. And I will be here to encourage you all to do the same lovelies! Sometimes, we just have to step over the line to get to something really quite wonderful! Something the little versions of ourselves would be proud of!
