Growing up, every Sunday night, we would have cheese on toast for our tea, after having a roast dinner earlier in the day. Sometimes it would be on crumpets, but we would have something cheesy to help tide us over until the morning. Therefore, whenever I think about it, I always feel so cosy inside. 

Cheese on toast, cheeseboards and melted cheese on top of a piping hot shepherds pie or lasagne all present this feeling to many of us. In fact, I am certain that is why we all love the stuff as much as we do. A piece of cheese has never let any meal down and that is a fact. 

However, I have to admit that I hate the preparation that comes with getting the cheese ready for these kinds of dishes. You will always find a piece of grated cheese somewhere unexpected or a crumb lingering on the side long after you have finished making them, creating a lot of mess. 

Therefore, I am always looking for alternative ways to help make my time in the kitchen a breeze. And I think I have found it when it comes to slicing cheese! Having kindly been sent one to test, we unwrapped the slim plane/slicer as soon as it landed on my desk to put it to the test. Grabbing a thick block of cheddar from our fridge, my mum and I effortlessly sliced the cheese, as we glided the cutter along the top of the block, before my mum tucked into them neat. 

Both of us were so impressed with how quick and easy it sliced through the cheese that we kept finding reasons to use it in fact. I don’t think our house has ever made as many toasties as we did during the first few days. I even gave it a go on vegetables, making beautiful ribbons of carrot, cucumber and more to toss onto my plate.

I was really impressed though by the ease of using the item. As someone who struggles, due to low muscle mass in my arms, to sometimes use a knife, I felt confident using this. I didn’t have to worry that I was going to hurt myself at all, as the blade did exactly what it needed to do in a few seconds. Meaning no force had to be put into it and no sticking occurred. 

With school and work lunches to be made, this is a great tool to put to use when you are in a hurry, as the blade makes slicing a breeze without the faff of using a grater or a sharp knife. Plus, you can be so quick with it that if you have done some meal prepping for dinner, you can use it beforehand to prep the cheese for it. Then simply wash and put away. No worries to be had.
