Five Wardrobe Essentials To Make The Seasonal Transition A Breeze
00:00:00The changing of the seasons means that we are all having to rethink what to wear! Especially, when the weather can be so undecided! As we pack away our bikinis and shorts to make way for jumpers and boots, I have come up with five staples that everyone should own to help make the transitions a lot easier! Find what they are here!
Good Morning Lovelies,
Currently, as I write this, I am in my ultimate autumn comfies! Defying the windy climates outside, I am snuggled up in a soft white sweatshirt and comfy pale pink joggers. For me, this is one of those looks that I adore, as I have nowhere to go and don’t need to dress up, which I find hard to do during the changing of the seasons.
With the weather undecided as to if it wants to be hot or cold still, I never know if I should put on a coat or stick to my shorts and t-shirts, in case it gets hot again later in the day. It is all so very confusing and I am sure many of you are feeling the same way.
However, after having a bit of a sort out of my wardrobe, I have decided that there are really only five essentials that I need right now to help me navigate the transition from summer to autumn. Five items I thought I would share with you all in case you are struggling like me. I am certain you probably have all of them already too…
A Trench Coat: There is nothing, and I mean NOTHING, like a trench coat to style any autumn outfit with. I have three different kinds in my wardrobe. Actually, I have four, as I have a small black one that has now been dubbed the serious coat (funerals etc). A trench can transform even the simplest of outfits, including pyjamas, into a catwalk worthy look. I dream of owning a Burberry trench one day but for now, I am living for my George at Asda and Helly Hensen designed ones, which are equally stylish and a lot less money.
A Good Pair of Boots: Walking, ankle, knee-high, the possibilities when it comes to what style of boot you can wear during the colder months is endless. Especially when they all look so good with many different kinds of outfits. I always find that as soon as my feet start getting cold in my trainers that I break out my best walking kind to see me right through until spring. This year, I am going for some trusty Timberlands, after picking up a pair in the sales. Though, I have to admit that I adore the big fluffy kind from Amazon and the solid leather ones from Dr Martins too.
A Fluffy Scarf: A scarf is a must during autumn, as it can help to see us all right through until the end of winter. Whether it be a smooth silk number or a big chunky knitted kind, any scarf is a winner. I am breaking out a big patterned number this year to help bring a sense of brightness to my day.
A Big Baggy Sweatshirt: Sweatshirts are my go to when it comes to staying warm in autumn. A few days before I wrote this blog post, I was purchasing some plain ones in fact to go with all different outfits. I soft sweatshirt can keep you nice and cosy when in or outside of the home. Paired with a trench coat and a good pair of trousers or jeans can make anybody look cool. Or when wrapped up under a blanket inside, it can provide that extra dose of warmth we all seek in autumn.
A Cosy Pair of Joggers: I don’t care what anyone says about jogging bottoms, a good pair can take you from day to night. Even styled with the right shoes and shirt can make them look smarter than they once were seen as. You cannot beat a good pair of jogging bottoms to snuggle up inside in on a crisp day. You don’t even need to get changed for bed if they are the right kind.
Changing our wardrobes to fit the seasons can be hard, especially when we have come to love those comfy shorts and slouchy t-shirts. Yet, just a few simple staples can make that transition a real breeze. If I had to pick just one item for you all to invest in lovelies, it has to be the trench! You simply can’t go wrong with a good trench!
