The Newest Foods & Drinks I Have Tried Recently

00:00:00

Recently, I have been trying to branch out more and try new foods! Using our trip to Belfast to do so, I found a lot of new favourites that I have been adding to our weekly shopping list ever since I discovered them! Find out what new foods and drinks from over the past few months that I have been enjoying right here!

Good Morning Lovelies,

Every so often, I like to share with you all the food and drinks that I have recently discovered. With a quick trip to Belfast having happened recently, a number of the foods I normally eat had to be changed up, leading to a whole host of new taste experiences. All of which being incredibly enjoyable!

I have been absolutely obsessed with the following since I found out about them and decided to give them a go. They are all truly delicious and I couldn't recommend them enough…

White’s Jumbo Oats, £2.25: The Irish know how to make the best porridge oats possible. As someone who normally only buys Flavahans, I was amazed that I couldn’t find them when in Belfast, so I opted for the next best kind, White’s. Super creamy and perfect with honey, I used this to make my birthday dinner and loved the taste of them in every single way. The only downside I had in regards to them was there were quite a few kernel pieces, however, I was happy to pick them out.

Lidl 0% Fat Free Greek Yogurt, £2.25: I love to have some Greek yogurt and fruit at the end of every day. Normally, I go for the Aldi kind but with no Aldi in Belfast, I turned to Lidl’s own brand instead. Creamy and in no way bitter, it was a really refreshing yogurt that worked perfectly with fruit and granola in my mum’s case. We loved the tub we had and both agreed that when we next go to our local Lidl, we will pick up some to make frozen yogurt lollies with.

Mi Wadi No Added Sugar Blackcurrant Squash, £1.70: Having spotted this squash online, I knew that it was an iconic brand to have when in Ireland. Yet, I had never done so until we got to Belfast. I wasn’t sure if I had made the right choice with just plain blackcurrant but I loved it. I was having it as a warm squash, replacing my normal warm Vimto, and it made me feel so cosy in the evening. I wish we could get it here in Hertford.

Aldi Grandessa Squeezy Honey, £1.39: I adore honey and am always on the lookout for a new kind to try. Oddly, even though I shop there every week, I had never had the squeezy Aldi kind before. I had had the one in the jar but not this one and I really regret not having it sooner. It is sweet but not too overpowering, making it perfect as a porridge topper.

Asda Lemon & Ginger Tea, 88p: Throughout July, I really suffered with my stomach, leaving me in pain and feeling sick. I was advised to try ginger tea to help soothe it and I have to say that this tea did the trick. I loved the taste and it helped to ease my stomach but the sore throat I got afterwards too.

A lot of these foods I have sadly not been able to have again, as they were experienced when we were in Belfast and can’t be brought back home. However, I know that when I return I am definitely going to be buying them again! They were really delicious, especially the Mi Wadi squash, which I will be searching high and low for. If I can’t find it here, I will definitely stock up and bring some home with me in December!

What have you been eating and drinking that are new to you lovelies? Is there something you would recommend? Let me know, as I would love to give it a go if I can!
