What I Did In May To Prepare For Christmas 2026
00:00:00Christmas is only six months away now and as we catapult into it, I have been spending the last month preparing my home for the festivities! It may seem a little early but as I get SAD in summer, I made sure to find a little time each week within May to embrace a little bit of Christmas goodness! Find out how I prepared for the upcoming festivities here!
Good Morning Lovelies,
My heart is always thinking about Christmas! I long for the colder evenings, darker nights and peaceful moments that the season brings. Summer is a really hard time for me and I struggle with the idea that the lighter evenings mean we should all be on the go all the time.
Therefore, as we begin to prepare for the upcoming festive season, I took May to finally embrace how I want to spend December. I want to have moments within it where I just calmly snuggle up in bed and watch Christmas films. I want to take a warm drink with me and sip on it, lulling myself into a comfortable sleep.
This seems as far away as possible at the moment though due to the weather. However, I decided in May that instead of doing something big to prepare for Christmas, I would start to adopt these ideas. Once a week, I settle in with a feel-good show or film and make sure to really not rush or go overboard. I have spent more time sitting talking to my mum, plotting what we want to do at Christmas time.
We have even begun discussing our Christmas trip next year, which we did think was going to be at Disneyland Paris. Yet, after a lot of chat, it seems like we may be going on a Christmas market adventure, which I can’t wait to start planning. In fact, it may just be the thing I do throughout the month of June to help me get through it.
Although many of us are thinking about shorts and flip flops or beach trips right now, my heart needed May to really help heal itself. I needed the calm before the storm. I needed the Christmas hibernating sensations to help revive my soul. I know that is a little dramatic but this time of year gets me so down that it really felt that way.
Honestly, the sooner the leaves begin falling from the trees the better! Who else is with me? If you too have been planning your festivities, please do let me know what you have been doing! My Christmas obsessed heart would love to hear all about it lovelies!
