Create The Ultimate Honey Crunch Breakfast With This Recipe
00:00:00Honey is one of the best foods in the world to me! It is the food that I believe saved my life! Therefore, I am always looking for ways to add it to my meals! This recipe allows for a crunchy toast dish to be elevated with the sweet and gooey goodness of it! Get ready to want to make it every morning!
Good Morning Lovelies,
Whether it be the supermarket runny kind in a glass jar or the dark squeezy variety that Rowse ace, I adore honey in all of its forms. I love to spread it on a bagel and warm it up to make an oozing glazed donut like sandwich. I love it on top of my cereal. I make dinner with it by topping a night time bowl of porridge with it. I honestly can’t get enough of it!
Therefore, I am always wanting to use it in recipes that I am coming up with to share with you all. Recently, I have been turning my bagels into toast to make these delicious crispy French toast type bites that even honey haters enjoy. Super simple to do, this recipe is a real delight and I hope you all like it…
Ingredients
Two to Three Slices of Bread
One Cup of Crunchy Cereal (Cornflakes, Rice Krispies, Crunchy Nut or Similar)
Two Eggs
One Teaspoon of Vanilla Extract
One Teaspoon of Cinnamon
60ml of Milk
A Pinch of Salt
Butter (For Frying)
Honey
OPTIONAL: Maple Syrup, Yogurt or Golden Syrup (For Serving)
Tools
A Food Bag
A Rolling Pin
Two Mixing Bowls
A Mixing Spoon
A Knife or Scissors
A Frying Pan
A Spatula
Method
- First, place the cereal into a food bag and using a rolling pin, crush it into small pieces but not dust like. Allow for a texture to still be seen. Pour the cereal into a bowl when done.
- Pop the cereal to one side and grab a mixing bowl. Add the eggs, milk, vanilla, cinnamon and salt into it and combine fully.
- Next, grab your bread and slice into bite-sized cubes or strips. Then dip each bite or strip into the custard mixture, before rolling in the cereal crumbs until fully coated.
- Once ready, heat the butter in your frying pan and add the strips two or three at a time to cook. They should take two to three minutes per side until they are golden and crispy.
- When ready, place onto a plate and drizzle in the honey. You can also use maple or golden syrup here or even berries and yogurt.
This recipe is so versatile that you can change it up to include chocolate cereal and chips or even savoury ingredients such as cheese and pepper. The possibilities are endless but all work wonderfully with honey! It really is the most amazing food in the world lovelies!
