00:00:00

Summer for many brings out all the best things that we could hope for! Yet, for me and I am sure a number of you, it can be hard to deal with! From the overbearing heat to burnt BBQ food, it isn’t always easy to handle! Therefore, I like to do the following tfun hings to make me feel a whole lot better! I hope can help you too if you feel the same!

Good Morning Lovelies,

As we head into summer, I am one of the odd few who are preparing ways to make sure I remain happy during the next few months. I struggle so much during June, July and August to remain well, as the hot weather brings out reverse SAD effects within me. Something that has occurred for years.

During this time, I have found that by doing the following things, my summer is a little bit brighter. Therefore, I thought I would share them with you in case you too are like me and are looking for some little pick me ups…

A Spritz Of My Favourite Perfume: The top drawer of my chest of drawers is full of perfumes. Every day, I like to smell them all and pick which one suits my mood. As someone who adores the smell of coconut, if I need a really big boost, then I always use one that has these notes. It gives me the confidence to do what I need to do throughout the day. Finding the right one for you will instantly pick you up.

Exercising/Going For A Walk: If I don’t go out for a walk during the day, I really feel it mentally. Putting on some music, heading out the door and enjoying the sunshine or even the rain makes me feel so alive. It gives me a clearer head and a better outlook on what is going on within myself. A little walk can go a long way lovelies!

Listening or Watching Something I Love: Whilst I work during the day and relax in the evening, I will always have a podcast, music or TV show that I love on. Even if I am not paying attention to it, I find having a friendly voice in the background a real comfort. I took to doing this when I was revising for my exams in school and now it is the only way I feel I can really go fully zen at times.

Spend Time Opening Up: Whether it is typing something on the computer, speaking to someone in person or taking pen to paper to write down everything, opening up after every day is exactly what the brain often needs. I love to come on here and speak openly to all of you lovelies, as well as writing down a few thoughts in a journal each evening. Both of which make me feel like I have got a lot off my chest, leaving the thoughts and moments in the past that have caused me any anxiety.

A Refreshing Shower: On a Sunday, I love to spend a long time having an everything shower and pamper session. This involves shaving, washing my hair, popping on cosy new PJs or my best outfit and applying every lotion and potion I can to my body. For me, this helps me to feel prepared and ready for the start of a new week, leaving the person I was the week before in the past. A shower really can work wonders at making you feel better lovelies!

Do you have little things that you like to do every day to feel better? Let me know as I would love to hear about how they improve your life lovelies! I may just take some of your tips on board!
