Good Morning Lovelies, 

Upon watching the trailer for Song Sung Blue, you would be right in thinking that you will be going into a joyful feature that tells the story of two figures looking for their big break. Yet, what you get is so much more than that! 

Starring Kate Hudson in a career transforming role and the amazing Hugh Jackman, the pair play two tribute acts, who come together, both romantically and musically, to transform the way that they perform in life. Becoming a Neil Diamond tribute act, the pair perform his hits time after time for audiences around the UK. However, it is the story that happens behind closed doors that leads this feature to being so award worthy. 

Full of twists and turns, with one happening early on to Hudson’s character that no viewer would expect, the story is a gripping and original story that is unlike any biopic that we have had in recent years. In no way boring, the film grips you from start to finish, in most parts thanks to the amazing casting, with each figure standing out in their own way.

Of course, you will be singing along to Diamond’s hits throughout, but it is the way that the actors bring his music to life in a new way that makes this a real joy to beyond. They know what they have to do to tell this story in an authentic way that doesn’t become cheesy or too over the top for audiences all over. 

Add in the fact that the story is based on a real life couple and it just becomes even more magical to view. Hudson and Jackman are a fantastic pairing and both should be proud of the way that they tell this couple's story. Especially Hudson who reminds us just how wonderful her acting talents are. 

Sweet, shocking and full of charm, Song Sung Blue is a film that will brighten up your day, even with its twists and turns, to make you see that any situation can be fixed with a Neil Diamond song! Caroline would find it really sweet!
