Start Your Day Easily With This Simple Baked Oats Recipe

00:00:00

Whenever I have looked up making baked oats, I've always felt like the recipes are very out there! From bananas being mixed in to the options of using yogurt, milk or even broths to bind them, it is hard to know the best way to make it! Therefore, I have decided to share a super simple recipe that takes no time at all!

Good Morning Lovelies,

Many of you will know that whilst I still find it a little scary, I really do love porridge. Especially when the mixture goes thick and chunky. Due to my autism and eating disorder, I really don’t find the watery kind enjoyable. I like a flapjack-like experience, with warm runny honey poured on top.

Even writing about it right now makes me want to grab a bowlful of it. Yet, the way I make it does take a lot of microwaving, which can be a bit of a faff to be honest lovelies. So, I have been looking up ways to bake my oats instead. However, this has led to a lot of confusion.

A lot of the recipes online have very unique steps that I am not that worried about to be honest lovelies. I simply want a very basic recipe that I can jazz up with honey or jam at the end. This led to me trialling a very simple plan, which came out fluffy, light and perfect in every way.

Wanting to share this joy with you lovelies, I thought I would let you all know that baked oats can be enjoyed without all the hard steps in a very easy and quick way. Spoons at the ready…

Ingredients

One Cup of Jumbo/Normal Rolled Oats

One to Two Tablespoons of Honey

One Cup of Water

Tools

A Mixing Bowl

A Mixing Spoon

A Baking Dish or Ramekin

Method

  1. Start by adding the oats and water into your mixing bowl, stirring until combined. Place to one side and leave to sit for 10 to 15 minutes to help soften the oats.
  2. Once ready, add in the honey and stir vigorously for one to two minutes to help let air in to make it super fluffy.
  3. After you have stirred your mixture enough, pour it into your baking dish or ramekin. You may wish to grease the dish to prevent any sticking but it is up to you.
  4. Place into the oven and bake at 175°C for 25 to 30 minutes. The top of the oats should be slightly golden and set but the inside should still be soft.
  5. Upon finishing cooking, allow it to cool slightly for around five minutes to help it firm up a little bit more, if you wish. Otherwise tuck right in lovelies!

You can add even more toppings to your baked oats if you wish to lovelies! I always add a bit more honey to the top, as it helps to keep my sweet tooth very happy! However, you can add anything your heart may desire and enjoy this dish at any time of the day too! I won’t lie, I am a porridge for dinner kind of girl! Whatever way you wish to eat it lovelies, I hope you enjoy it!
