What I Did In January To Prepare For Christmas 2026!

00:00:00

Christmas may still be 10 months away, however, that hasn’t stopped me from going all in on planning for it already! With so much to prepare for the best day of the year, you can never start the celebrations too early in my eyes! Find out what I did throughout January to get ready for the big event I'm so excited for here!

Good Morning Lovelies,

Whilst many of us spend January getting over the hectic weeks that December brings, I like to spend it planning the next festive season. Whether it be booking events early, picking up presents to store away or cleaning up all the decorations to see what I want to keep and what I don’t, I spend the first few weeks of a new year really going all in on what 2026’s big day will look like.

Over the past year, I have shared with you all a monthly post about this, which I am so grateful that you all seemed to love and enjoy. Therefore, I thought I would bring it back lovelies and share with you all what I did during January to get ready for Christmas this year.

With all of the sales happening both in stores and online, I couldn’t help but look out for a few bargains to put away for the new year. Having cleaned up our decorations and got rid of a number of items that no longer really worked, used too much electricity or batteries and even broken bits, we picked up a few decorations to replace them. This included a metal tealight tree from John Lewis and tree decorations.

We also spent January preparing for the toy donations that we give every year in December in honour of my dad. Picking up a lot of reduced priced toys, we have put them into a box to start our collection that will go to children in need later this year. As will the cards and wrapping paper that we purchased on offer to give to each other when the time comes.

Finally, January also oddly saw us buying food that had really long best before or use by dates to keep for next Christmas. There is no reason why food should go to waste if it is okay lovelies and so we always do this to try and prevent it from not being used. At the moment, we have found some biscuits and sweets that are perfect for making hampers at the end of the year.

I truly love Christmas with all of my heart, so any way that I can spread or enjoy a bit of festive magic throughout the year makes me really happy. I love to follow the Christmas accounts online and will not stop listening to Heart Christmas until it disappears. If you are like me lovelies, I would love to hear about all the things you have already started doing to prepare for this year’s big event, so please do let me know! On this blog, it really is Christmas every day!
