Cheese is something that my mum would serve at every meal if she could. Growing up, we would have it in sandwiches for school, on toast for supper and on top of all kinds of dishes. My Italian dad was someone who if you left him with a whole ball of mozzarella, would eat it all in one sitting. So, it is very safe to say that we are a family of cheese lovers. 

Over Christmas, our fridge was full to the brim with all kinds of it. From blue veined stilton to rich extra mature cheddar, there was a piece that everyone would enjoy. And they enjoyed it a lot. Especially the amazing wheels that came from the fantastic company Clawson Farms.

Clawson Farms Captain Bulldog Vintage Cheddar, £6: My mum’s ultimate choice of cheese, this vintage cheddar is rich with flavour, making it a delicious ingredient for toasties, pasta dishes and more. My mum loves to enjoy it plain with slices of apples or within a baguette, loaded with meats and Branston pickle. No other cheddar is quite as wonderful as this according to her and I do trust her a lot. Therefore, if you want to elevate your cheddar bites, this is the one to opt for. 

Clawson Farms Truffle Seeker Extra Mature Cheddar with Truffle & Honey, £6: A rich mature cheddar flavoured with mushroom like notes and sweet honey is a cheeseboard wonder that will keep those eating it guessing what the flavours of it are for ages. Catching the beauty of the seasons, this is a delight for the senses, as well as the dishes that it is used in. 

Clawson Farms Wizard’s Fire Red Leicester with Scotch Bonnet & Harissa, £6: If you like your cheeses to have a bit of a spice to them then this is the one for you. Due to the heat of the scotch bonnet, it is a great addition to help keep you warm in the winter, whilst also exciting your summer meat dishes. Sprinkled over a hot dog or sliced into a hearty beef burger and you are on to a real winner.

Clawson Farms Dormouse’s Delight Wensleydale with Cranberries, Elderflower & Marmalade, £6: Wensleydale with cranberries may seem like a festive piece, however, thanks to Clawson Farms, they have given it a real makeover that makes it delicious all year round. With the elderflower making it perfect for spring and the marmalade giving it a zesty taste that fits greatly with summer, it is a cheese that flows through the year wonderfully and into our mouths even better.

1912 Artisan Stilton, £5.50: A cheeseboard would not be complete without the blue veined stilton that so many love. Perfect on its own, on top of crackers with a splash of relish or pickle or mixed into a broccoli and stilton soup, this rich and creamy stilton is a timeless addition that is better than all other stiltons on the market according to my mum.

Cheese is a staple in so many homes but none of them are quite like the Clawson Farms’ creations lovelies. They are truly working to bring us all the best they can and they have succeeded in doing so. When it comes to truly treating yourself and your meals, they are the brand to opt for.
