Experience The Best Of London On An Epic GOBOAT Adventure
00:00:00When it comes to winter, you may think that the only thing that you can do is stay inside and keep warm to have fun! Yet, that is not the case! GOBOAT London has a whole host of boats kitted out for the festive season and beyond, which are perfect to spend the day on! Here is what happened when stepped on board!
Good Morning Lovelies,
As soon as December hits, I want to do as much as possible to make the festive season a memorable one. Whether that be exploring Christmas markets or taking in the local sites decked out in their bright lights and seasonal attire, there is nothing better than taking part in something that brings joy to everybody who experiences them lives.
Therefore, when I was offered the chance to try one of the Winter Boating Experiences from GOBOAT in London, I couldn’t say no. Situated in four areas of the capital, the winter boats are based at their Canary Wharf dock, meaning that as soon as the blog arrived to take part, we were already hit with amazing sights.
Joining forces with my neighbours and their young children, we headed to the main area, 15 minutes early, to meet our instructor. Upon seeing us, they welcomed us warmly before taking us through a few simple safety measures, and a couple of complimentary glasses of mulled wine, that we had to follow. Each boat is fit for eight people of all ages, yet we allowed for our neighbour Archie to take the wheel, meaning he had to give it a bit of a test run before he was allowed to take the ship out of the port.
Giving us a map to follow, we were allowed out into the water for two hours, following the path that they had outlined. It was important to keep to this to maintain staying safe throughout the trip, something we were happy to accept. Powered by an electric motor, we were off in no time and setting sail along the river, exploring the sights and sounds around us.
With an added roof and beautiful lights and blankets added for the winter season, the chance to cosy up and wonder in it all could not have been a more perfect way to spend the Sunday in between Christmas and New Year. Even though we didn’t see it at night, we were still able to capture the magic of the boat in all its glory.
As the younger members called out monuments and sights along the way, we all agreed that the trip had made memories that we would keep for life. GOBOAT knows exactly how to make their customers feel special and I can only imagine how wonderful it would be to spend an afternoon on one of them in the summer.
Having enjoyed the afternoon so much, we were shocked at how quick the whole experience was. In no time at all, the two hour slot that we had booked was up and we returned to where we had started to moor up. Getting off the boat, we were all sad that our time was up and vowed that we would come back.
With all of us having been a little worried about what to expect, we all agreed that GOBOAT was definitely a memory making experience after our time aboard one. The Winter Experience is unlike anything the blog has ever tried and it was a huge joy. At just £149 for eight people to enjoy it, when split between each other, it is something that costs hardly anything at all. Perfect for when you don’t know what to do with your day but want to try something new and seasonal.
GOBOAT has a number of slots still available for their Winter Experience right now, so book them up quickly if you would like to give the experience a go. However, there are also a number of slots for future seasons and docks for you to choose from too. I promise you all, once you give it a go you won’t be able to stop stepping aboard!
