Blogmas Day Six: Five Experiences In London You Must Do At Christmas

00:05:00

London is a real place of wonder when it comes to Christmas! With so much to see and experience, there isn’t a sight or sound that isn’t touched by the festive period and I love it all! Having been able to see and try so many Christmas wonders in the city, I thought I would share five must-do activities to embrace this season!

Good Morning Lovelies,

When it comes to Christmas time, London truly knows how to shine! From gorgeous lights, wonderful window displays and magical pop-up moments, the city knows how to make the idea of Santa coming to town even better.

Recalling so many wonderful times and places I have spent within it, I went on a bit of a deep dive looking into which moments you lovelies can still enjoy to share them with you all. I hope that you all get to experience at least one of these festive wonders at least once in your life, as they are truly incredible…

Winter Wonderland (Hyde Park, 14th Nov 2025 to 1st Jan 2026): Now a ticketed event, the heart of Hyde Park comes alive at this festive event, which is held every year. From thrill-seeking rides to cosy pop-up bars and market stalls, everything you could want at Christmas can be found within the walls of this real wonderland.

Elf The Musical (Aldwych Theatre, West End, 28th Oct 2025 to 3rd Jan 2026): Whilst there are many shows in London that mark the festive season, this adaptation of the hit film is a must-see. Having experienced it a number of years ago now, I can still sing the songs featured and recall the magical Santa moment at the end vividly.

Southbank Centre’s Winter Christmas Market (Southbank, Waterloo, 3rd Nov 2025 to 4th Jan 2026): The first Christmas market I ever experienced in London, I find walking around this pop-up hotspot a real treat at Christmas. The Southbank has never been as pretty as it is when this festive scene is within its means. Plus, it is completely free to go to, making it even more appealing.

Skate at Somerset House (Somerset House, The Strand, 12th Nov 2025 to 11th Jan): Under the twinkling stars in the night sky and the shadow of the beautifully decorated Christmas tree that looms over the silky smooth ice rink at Somerset House, the wonders of Christmas truly arrive. I am in no way a good skater but even I can’t resist going for a spin on the ice when I see it. Although, I haven’t done so in years in fears of falling over aha!

Explore The Festive Lights (All over London, Mid-Nov 2025 to Mid-Jan 2026): Every inch of London is coated in Christmas lights. From floating angels over Regent’s Street to gorgeously decorated window displays, the city is alive as soon as November hits with glowing lights that warm the soul from inside out. Grab a hot chocolate, wrap up warm and go for a walk around the city to capture them all.

London is a place so close to my heart and having witnessed it coming alive at Christmas time still makes me so happy when I think about it. The memories will always stay with me and I hope that you can build similar ones like I have by experiencing these moments and places too!
