Blogmas Day 20: Experiencing The Festive Season At Sea - My Pre-Christmas Escape!

00:05:00

Where am I in the world? What festive delights am I up to? Well, today I am revealing all about what I am up to this weekend and how we got to this very festive outing! Grab your sailors hats and shout ahoy, because the blog is currently cruising the Christmas filled sea waves with a new dream in mind for my future!

Good Morning Lovelies,

As you read this, I am currently sailing around the UK on an Ambassador cruise ship! This is not a gifted post lovelies before you ask, instead it is a trip that will be testing everything I struggle with. All in the name of Christmas and having some memory making festive fun.

Last year, my mum kept stating that she would love to go on a cruise. Upon looking at finding her a mini break to go on with her friends, I uncovered a two day UK Festive Taster Cruise with Ambassador cruise lines, which is taking place this weekend. Debating whether I could handle a cruise due to my mental and ill health, I decided to discuss it with my mum, who said that she was up for it if I was. So, I told that nasty voice in my head to go away and booked it.

And now here we are, floating around the UK, surrounded by festive lights, Christmas trees and lots of carols that everyone is singing along too. Having never been on a cruise ship before, I think coming on one at Christmas has made me fall completely and utterly in love with them.

With every festive need catered to us, my mum has been partying every night away and I have been walking around in awe at what we are seeing. Due to the cruise being so short, we have both declared many times already that it is the break that we both needed before all of the hectic things that we have coming up when we get home begin.

Having departed yesterday from London, I have already seen so many wonders of places close to home that I haven’t seen before. Plus, the ship has already put on so many great shows, classes and meals in my mum’s case for everyone to enjoy. We have even made friends already, who I hope stay lifelong ones.

Sometimes we get so wrapped up in doing the normal Christmas activities that we don’t look for the unusual things that we could be experiencing. Don’t get me wrong, I love a festive market or theatre trip, but having all that on a festive cruise ship has made this year’s experience incredible.

I am going to do a dedicated post about the trip in January lovelies but for now, I hope that you all have a magical weekend and if you see a festive looking ship going by give it a wave! I will be sure to wave my red Santa hat back!
