Blogmas Day 17: Tuck Into This Nutty Fudge Recipe This Christmas
00:00:00As we have headed into the festive months, the best and sweetest ingredients have made their way onto our supermarket shelves! Using a few of them to create a gorgeously nutty treat, I have a recipe to share with you all that is perfect to snack on and to give as a gift! Get ready to have a fudging good time making this!
Good Morning Lovelies,
Fudge has always been a food that my family has loved! Especially the Cadbury’s kind, which we would all fight for. Today though, I have a different kind of fudge recipe to share with you all that I think is going to not only make your sweet tooth happy but also someone else's as the most perfect festive gift.
Using the best ingredients from this season, you will not be able to stop enjoying this fudge from the moment you make it until well beyond the festive season. It is really quite fudging brilliant if I do say so lovelies…
Ingredients
200g of Cooked and Peeled Chestnuts (Canned Work Too)
200g of Granulated Sugar
100ml of Double or Heavy Cream
Two Tablespoons of Honey (Golden Syrup Works Too)
A Pinch of Salt
Tools
A Mixing Bowl
A Mixing Spoon
A Fork or Blender
A Baking Tray
Greaseproof Paper
A Saucepan
A Knife
Method
- Start by adding the chestnuts to a mixing bowl and mashing them roughly with a fork or blender until chunky but soft. Place to one side.
- In a saucepan, add in the sugar, cream, honey and salt, heating and stirring gently until the sugar has dissolved.
- Once the sugar has melted away, bring the mixture to a gentle boil, before leaving to cook for five to seven minutes, stirring continuously until the mixture thickens slightly.
- When the mixture is ready, remove from the heat and add in the chestnuts. Mix until fully combined.
- Pour the fudge mixture onto a lined baking tray before smoothing the top. Leave out on the side and allow it to cool fully before placing into the fridge to chill for two to three hours.
- Once the fudge is set, slice it into small squares and coat in icing sugar or cocoa powder, if desired, for a festive look. Then serve and enjoy!
Fudge is such a festive staple lovelies and I hope that you can enjoy this one as much as we have done so in our house! It’s gone down a right treat!
