Bonfire Night 2025: Five Ways To Celebrate At Home This Year

00:00:00

Bonfire Night is upon us and that means only one thing! Fireworks! Or maybe not this year, as the world can actually come alive at home and indoors instead! As someone who has to avoid lots of smoke, I have found joy in celebrating the brightest night in the sky by celebrating in comfort at home! Discover how you can too right here!

Good Morning Lovelies,

Tonight, many of us will be enjoying a bonfire or fireworks display to mark the loudest night of the year, Bonfire Night! However, for those of you like myself it can be a hard affair to mark, as the smoke and loud noises can cause a whole host of problems.

Having suffered with my lungs for a long time, I am no longer allowed to be around a lot of smoke for a long time. This means I can’t attend the local celebrations. A fact that I used to find really upsetting until I started marking the occasion in my own way. Fun indoor activities that have left me with a new sense of joy for the big day.

Knowing that some of you may be like me lovelies, I thought I would share five ways that you can mark Bonfire Night in the comfort of your own home. Whether you are hosting family and friends for the event or spending it alone, these are some easy and fun activities that I hope bring you a colourful time…

Indoor Bonfire Setup: Whether it is a fake fireplace or a video on YouTube, find an electric version of the real thing and set up a cosy campfire scene in your own living room. You could even use an electric fondue set or an air fryer to make homemade smores too.

Bonfire Themed Dinner Party: Bonfire night often calls for traditional comfort food to be presented. This could be a heartwarming chilli over jacket potatoes or a classic hot dog. Invite your nearest and dearest over and get each of them to bring their ultimate Bonfire Night dish. Tucking into this will be a whole lot safer and tastier.

Mini Indoor Carnival: Some Bonfire Night celebrations come with a little funfair. Don’t miss out on all the fun and games by making your own versions at home. Use bottles to create a ring toss. Wrap up little gifts and bury them in tissue paper to make a lucky dip. Fill the bath with water and little rubber ducks for a hook a duck section. Once you get started, you won’t be able to stop coming up with homemade versions of the classic funfair games.

Fireworks Paint Off: Instead of going to firework competitions, create your own version at home by getting your guests to paint their ultimate firework display. Then at the end of the night, you can all guess which one you like the best. Those colourful displays will then live on forever in your home or theirs, marking an incredibly fun night.

A Cosy Reading Night Alone: Sometimes the best way to embrace the beauty of Bonfire Night is to sit in a cosy chair, with a warm drink and good book, whilst letting the fireworks shine into your home from your window. I think this may just be the way that I mark the occasion, as it is the ultimate comforting idea to me.

However you are celebrating tonight lovelies, I hope that you all have an absolutely fantastic time! It really is a time to remember the fifth of November!
