Feel All The Autumn Feels With This Pastry Recipe

00:00:00

The ‘ber months are here, which means that the cosy bakes are out and we can enjoy all things wholesome again! As the jumpers get donned, the leaves fall from the trees and the most beautiful spices tinge the air with utter joy, I thought now would be a perfect time to get baking! The best thing to do on a chilly day!

Good Morning Lovelies,

Honestly, I don’t think there is anything better than autumn. It brings so much colour, joy and happiness into our lives. I long for it so much that I could cry. Therefore, when September hit, I felt endless amounts of happiness. Something that has continued as the days have passed.

With this feeling inside of me, I felt like getting back to baking. Although, it could also be because we have had The Great British Bake Off back on our screens as well. Using all the best flavours and spices from the season, I’ve come up with a pastry dish that is super easy but fancy too.

Apples, maple syrup and pecans, it’s time to assemble! Discover the recipe to my maple and pecan puff pastry tart with cinnamon apples below…

Ingredients

One Sheet of Ready Made & Rolled Puff Pastry

Two Medium Apples

Two Tablespoons of Melted Butter

Two Tablespoons of Brown Sugar

One Teaspoon of Cinnamon

1/3 Cup of Chopped Pecans

Two Tablespoons of Mable Syrup

1/4 Teaspoon of Nutmeg

Powdered Sugar (Optional for Dusting)

Tools

A Baking Tray

Greaseproof Paper

A Knife

A Chopping Board

A Pastry Brush

Method

  1. Start by preheating your oven to 200°C/400°F before greasing and lining a baking tray with greaseproof paper.
  2. Roll out the ready rolled pastry on to the baking tray and smooth down.
  3. Around the edges of the pastry, score a one inch border to make the crust.
  4. Using a chopping board and knife, thinly slice the apples. There’s no need to peel.
  5. Carefully, lay the apple slices into the pastry border, overlapping them slightly.
  6. Once all the apples have been placed inside, brush them with the melted butter before sprinkling the cinnamon, brown sugar and nutmeg on top evenly.
  7. Place into the oven and bake for 18-22 minutes or until puffy and golden.
  8. When the pastry is ready, remove from the oven and drizzle the maple syrup and pecans over the top. You can then dust with powdered sugar if you want to.
  9. Then tuck in with some cream, ice cream, custard or even more maple syrup!

Honestly, this is the most perfect dessert to snuggle up with lovelies! You could even enjoy it in the morning, by making up a big batch for a continental style breakfast! Autumn has never been so good to us lovelies!
