My Favourite Birthday Parties From Over The Years

00:00:00

Birthday parties are almost always a fun occasion! From big bashes to those magical mini moments that make a day come alive, you can’t beat that feeling of turning another year older in a momentous way! Looking back recently, I thought I would share with you my favourites from years gone by! There were some truly epic moments!

Good Morning Lovelies,

If you were to think about it, what was or has been your favourite birthday celebration? Was it having a big party with all your nearest and dearest? Or was it a solo adventure where you learnt something new? Whatever it may have been, I can guarantee that they must have been truly epic.

Over the past few days, as I turn 30, I have been thinking about how lucky I have been to celebrate my birthday in some amazing ways. When I was younger, my parents would host my whole year to give me the party of my childhood dreams. Something that my mum has continued to do, as she makes sure I celebrate the big day each year in some way.

Right now, we are sadly preparing to leave Dublin, but I know we will be back soon! And we have already started making plans for next year too! However, today, I thought I would share with you some of the memories from birthdays gone by that I have loved so much…

Disneyland Paris: On my 22nd birthday, I was able to celebrate not only my birthday but the magic of Bastille Day in Disneyland Paris. I don’t think I will ever get over seeing the fireworks for the first time ever on my birthday. Plus, I was with one of my closest friends, Tessa, who is just as mad as me, so we had a lot of fun. Though I still vow that I will never ever go on the Indiana Jones ride again!

Bouncy Castle Garden Parties: I was very lucky when I was younger, as my Uncle Alan actually owned a massive bouncy castle. This meant that for most of my primary school years, my parents would get it off him, pop it up in the garden and let me and my school mates go mad for hours in the garden. Even when the party was over, people would stay behind and play. My parents didn’t care, as long as we were having fun that was all that mattered. It makes my heart so happy when I think about those days.

Dublin: For my 21st and all of this week, I have been celebrating in my favourite place on Earth. Dublin is the city that holds my heart. Every time I come here I find something else to fall in love with. From the sights, the sounds and the people, there is no place else that I would like to celebrate a big event in! You just can’t beat it!

McDonald’s Parties: Every year when I was young, my parents would hire out the top of our local McDonald’s for my birthday. My whole school year would come and for two hours we would be thrown into the hall pit, have our face painted and play all the party games you could think of. I still dream about the birthday cakes you used to get at the end.

Twilight Film Night: My parents kindly for my 14th birthday paid for all my friends to go and see Eclipse at the cinema. They picked us all up from school, drove us to the cinema, which was harrowing for my dad, as we were so loud and paid for us to get in. They then got us all McDonald’s afterwards, before a few friends came back to sleep at mine. I don’t know why but this really sticks out to me, as I remember it just being so fun to run around and go wild after the film.

These birthdays are just a handful of ones that stick out to me lovelies! There are so many that I can recall that could have made the list. From celebrating a World Cup win in Lille to having the whole Disney Store in London sing to me, I am so grateful for the birthdays that have been and gone. Even the simple ones like staying in bed last year!

What was or has been your favourite birthday celebration lovelies? Let me know in the comments!
