Mint Leaf London Review
00:00:00London is the place that always amazes me when it comes to finding somewhere to eat! Whilst there are many well-known establishments, it is the hidden gems that are always the winners in my eyes! Something that Mint Leaf London definitely is! Find out all about our experience and the absolutely incredibly delicious food they have to offer at the amazing restaurant here!
Good Morning Lovelies,
In our house, an Indian is something that we all love! For me, I’m a bit of a weakling when it comes to heat, so I often choose a korma. However, my mum is someone who adores it! Therefore, when the blog was invited to try the amazing Mint Leaf London restaurant, we were super excited to go along.
Based in the heart of London, the restaurant is tucked into a corner of pure wonder, as it shines out from everything surrounding it. Full to the brim with beautiful pieces of art, when you walk in you know that you are in for an epic experience.
Seated by the windows on the top floor, we found our table to be in the perfect setting, as we were led by the staff to it. After being handed the beautiful blue menus, we ordered two lemonades, before opting for a starter.
Having looked at the menus online before going, we picked one starter for the table. The epic Chilli Calamari, which was fried in tempura and served alongside a sweet chilli dip. Upon the first bite, my mum rated it as being absolutely lovely. With a beautifully crispy batter and a smooth sauce to dip that wasn’t too hot, it went down a treat, leading the whole table into a state of pure excitement at what was to come with the main dishes.
Upon being asked what we wanted when we arrived, we were quickly presented with our main courses. The first being a rich Butter Chicken Masala, the second a Coconut Prawn Curry. Both served with steamed basmati rice, poppadoms and plain naan breads for two. With the table full to the brim, plates were quickly filled, forks dug I and moans groaned.
Rich in tomato flavours, the Butter Chicken Masala had huge pieces of chicken in it. So big in fact that my mum had to cut the chunks up with a nice. The sauce added a smoothness to the meat that was rich in juices. No dryness in sight. When paired with the rice and naan breads, it dripped onto the tongue like a genie granting an epic wish.
Something that also occurred with the Coconut Prawn Curry! Again, the prawns were massive, blending in with the hints of coconut perfectly. Picking up every spice and flavour that it had been combined with, it was a taste explosion on the tongue. When every prawn had gone, the naan breads were soon finished too, as there was no way that any of the sauce was being left. If plates could have been licked they would have been.
After a small break to let our mains go down, we picked out some desserts. Deciding on a rich and light finale, we chose the Sorbet of the Day, alongside the rich Chocolate Truffle Tart. With three options to choose from, including mango, and passionfruit, when it came to the sorbet, my mum opted for the mango. Places two heaped scoops in front of her, she stated it was the perfect way to finish off the meal, giving rich flavours whilst being an epic palate cleanser too.
As for the Chocolate Truffle Tart, it was adored by all! Every bit of pure perfection for a chocolate lover, you couldn’t have asked for more in a dessert. Every bite hit in all the right places. If we could have stolen a recipe then we would have taken this one straightaway!
After finishing our meals and drinks, we thanked the staff, who were incredibly friendly, kind and helpful to us throughout the meal, before heading home. If we had wanted more they would have happily served us it, however, we were so delighted with what we received that we didn’t think we would leave if we stayed. They truly made us feel like family.
Mint Leaf London is a restaurant that none of us knew before going but would now recommend to everyone. So close to home, it is now definitely going to be a place that we return to in the future. Every staff member was lovely. Every bite was beautiful. Every dish was a delight. Mint Leaf London is a ten out of ten experience that we hope you all go and enjoy soon lovelies! You will not be disappointed!
