Dog Man Blu-Ray Review

00:00:00

Having spotted the books this film is based on in my local library and shops, I knew that Dog Man was big! However, I didn’t know that he was that big that he warranted his own film! Yet, with the legends at DreamWorks behind the film, it works! Young and old are going to love this one! Find out why it’s great here!

Good Morning Lovelies,

When I was younger, my first ever trip to the cinema was to see Dogs and Cats! I can remember my mum taking me and my cousin Abbey, letting us have big boxes of popcorn as a treat. What I remember most though is hiding behind those boxes, Sai was terrified of the evil cats within the film.

Something new generations of cinema goers may find themselves facing, thanks to the evil cats in Dog Man, which is out on physical versions and digitally now. Having started like as a comic book, the team behind hit children’s film’s (god bless Shrek!), have made a feature that will entertain the masses.

Following a young dog, known as Dog Man, the features captures his adventures, as he tries to stop Petey, a giant orange Garfield like cat, voiced by Pete Davison. Starting in a very odd manner, the film actually shares how Dog Man came to be, as it tells of how the dog and his owner were badly harmed by Petey, leading to doctors putting the two together. Odd but something to go with. Throughout watching in fact.

There isn’t a real plot to the film but the silliness of it makes it enjoyable. You can tell that the feature has been made to simply keep young audiences entertained. The innocence of it leads to adults liking it just as much, as there isn’t a need or a warrant for what you are viewing to be complicated. It is simply cinema being fun.

Dog Man is a film that has been made to capture the true essence of the books and it is done superbly. Young fans will enjoy the way that it has been taken from page to screen. It sticks to what it is known for and truly becomes a film of pure joy to watch at any age!
