Food is really the beating heart of Christmas! Everything about the big day is surrounded by it! Whether it be the epic feast of a dinner of the foodie gifts you give or get, there are endless options! Including the classic Opies range, which is a must have on any festive table or under the tree! Tuck into their festive ideas right here!

Good Morning Lovelies,

For years, I would fork out and buy my mum a festive hamper from Fortnum & Masons. Whilst they are expensive, I wanted together her one, as she had always said she would like one. Plus, for everything that she does for me, she truly deserves to be spoilt.

However, recently, she told me that she would prefer I didn’t get her one, as they can filled with items that she doesn’t actually like. So, to make sure she still feels special, I have been making my own versions, including all of her favourites and classics. As a lover of fruit with yogurt, I have been thinking recently about what I can include that will not only make a nice addition to her breakfast on the big day but also in desserts and more surrounding Christmas.

Thankfully, Opies, the family favourite are back this year to bring a sense of opulence to my hamper with their new range of four popular fruits preserved in the most beautiful quality Luxardo liqueur in their classic Kilnear jars. The four fruits that Opies have chosen this year include beautifully plump peaches in a 12-year old Luxardo® brandy, huge baby pears drenched in Luxardo® Amaretto and sharp and gorgeous forest fruits covered in a Luxardo® mulled gin. Plus, the wonderful black cherries in Luxardo® Kirsch, which sit perfectly on top of a classic Christmas pudding.

To me, the jars look fancy, however it’s the taste of each item that really makes them the gift that keeps on giving. Filled right to the top, you can’t wait to dip your fingers in and pop out a succulent gem as soon as you pop it open. Even when they are all gone, you can’t waste the splendid alcoholic syrup either, which was perfect when added on top of our Christmas cake, to give it that extra rich boozy bath that it needed to mature.

Any of the fruits syrup would be good for this. In fact, it would even be fantastic to use to soak your dried fruit in before you make the cake. Giving you the perfect reason to enjoy multiple jars from now until forever. And if you have loads of jars, you can reuse them too!

I can’t wait to add these fruits into my mum’s hamper this year! I just know that she will love adding the black cherries and their syrup to a rich chocolate ice cream. Whilst the peaches will go fab with a white chocolate meringue I feel. However, Opies have got a whole page dedicated to recipes, which means you can find loads of other easy ways to enjoy them too.

Christmas gifts will shine with these jars in them, whilst any table in which they are placed on will look fabulous too! Opies have really done themselves and you should definitely take a look in your local supermarkets to see what I mean lovelies! They are this festive seasons disco fruit filled ball or jar in this case!
