Blogmas Day 16: Inside Our Weekly Food Shop At Christmas
00:00:00Food shopping at Christmas can be mad but with only two of us, we don’t normally need to buy that much in the lead up to the big day! There so, I thought it would be a bit interesting to show you a little look at our normal weekly food shop in the lead up to Christmas! Get ready to tuck right in!
Good Morning Lovelies,
Every Thursday or Friday, me and my mum will get together to discuss our weekly food shop and to make a list of what we need. Whilst doing this, we will also do a meal plan, which we hang in our kitchen. This helps me see if I can bring in something new to try whilst also soothing my ED. It also helps my mum know what to prepare before or after work for her.
Once the list is complete, we put it into my mum’s bag and head out on Saturday mornings to get the goods. Our main shop is normally done at Aldi, however, we also head to Asda, Sainsbury’s, Tesco’s and Iceland for top up items too. Especially in the lead up to Christmas. We also like to look at coupons and deals to see where we can get the best deals to help save money.
In the lead up to Christmas, some of our list changes, with a lot of fresh vegetables, stuffing, bread sauce and festive goods added to the list lovelies. However, not much differs. Therefore, I thought I would share with you all this Blogmas, our average weekly shop for two, which comes to around £35 to £40 a week, unless there are special items that week we want.
On our list the week these pictures were taken we needed…
Milk
Aldi Orange Squeezy Squashes
Aldi Fruit-o No Added Sugar Squash
Mushrooms
Aldi Festive Cereal
Aldi Active Peach Yogurts
Grapes
Blackberries
Aldi Cheezios Crisps
Aldi Apricot Conserve
Apples
Aldi Gnocchi
Aldi Unsmoked Bacon
Aldi Coffee
Aldi Festive Mug Hangers (For a Christmas present)
Iceland Croissants (We only got these as they were on offer)
Aldi Curry Sauce
Aldi Savoury Chicken Flavoured Rice
Iceland Peanut Yonkers Bars
Sainsbury’s Fresh Vegetable Mix
Aldi Evaporated Milk
Baby Potatoes
Plain Flour
Aldi Reduced Sugar and Salt Ketchup
Aldi Lighter Than Light Mayonnaise
Aldi Sensitive Skin Face Wipes
Aldi Cooked Ham
Sainsbury’s Malted Milk Creams
Aldi Sweet Maple Shower Gel (Festive edition of a lush dupe)
Dove Shower Gel
Aldi Toastie Bread

Aldi Ultra Kitchen Roll
Aldi Festive Cereal (For a Christmas present)
Frozen Cauliflower (In the freezer before the picture was taken)
Frozen Floret Mix (In the freezer before the picture was taken)
Chicken Popcorn (In the freezer before the picture was taken)
All of this came to £45, which was a bit more than normal, but with the added festive buys we were very happy. Each week, we find that we need to stock up with different items. More so in winter, when we are both seeking warming comfort foods. Therefore, we like to try and find the cheapest products around. Something that is key at Christmas time.
Aldi is one of my favourites places to go to get a bargain lovelies, yet you can also use Asda Rewards, Nectar offers and Iceland, Tesco’s or Morrisons’ bonus cards to save points to get money off too. You can also wait for major price drops, such as the 19p vegetables too lovelies. There are so many deals at the moment that we hope to bring this cost down even more!
I hope you have enjoyed this little sneak peek into our home and shopping lovelies! If you did let me know, as I will happily do more next year if so!
